Cassie - I'm so sorry again that you're having to go through this. Hope you'll be back here in no time!

Hi ladies - the August thread has been created. I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow morning and won't be back till next week so wanted to create it while I still have access to a PC. Hope to be joining you all here at the end of August! ;-)

Well ladies I am not pregnant. There was nothing on the ultrasound. We are guessing it was a blighted ovum. Congrats to the other ladies. Hope I will be back here again soon.

Jamie, as the other girls said, try not to worry.

Personally things have been really different this time that with Fede. With Fede's PP, I was back in my usual high libido at probably 6 weeks pp... And it stayed like that. This time, Julia is almost 5 months and I'm still not 100% like it used to be... I suppose it doesn't help that I'm really stressed with other stuff (house loan, DH's job, etc...) I know we've discussed this before, and it seems like for both of us, stress is the real killer, not hormones. Also, this time around I see more changes in my body than before, and it makes me insecure to the point where I don't want to take my clothes in front of DH.

I'm also one to "take one for the team", of course not if it hurts or if I'm really NOT in the mood, but if I'm so-so... I'll do it, just like you, I usually feel so much better afterwards. Besides DH always has something nice to say about my body (specially  my boobs, which I think look awful and he thinks gorgeous (?!)). And little by little it is helping me to go back to normal.

So, I mentioned this stabbing pain I keep getting in my last post, but it's getting worse. I literally can't do anything except walk without setting it off, and DH says I make horrible faces. My best guess is some muscle separation, but a friend last night mentioned a possible hernia. Any other suggestions? I have a m/w appointment Wednesday morning, so I do plan to bring it up then. I'm just really dreading the next two months when it hurts to pick up Peter, walk the dog, vacuum, stretch, etc.

Oh, and since Adrienne asked, here's a picture from last Friday. I wanted to get a good camera shot over the weekend, but DH is bad with the camera.

Jamie- I wouldn't worry too much about the sex stuff. If you enjoyed it before the chances that that would change are pretty darn low. I know for us having a baby didn't really change anything, at least not in any dramatic way. Of course the first few months I wasn't up for much but I had a baby who cried all the time and who only slept on me for 90 minute stretches- I can't imagine that many people are up for much in that situation LOL. As soon as we were getting more sleep we were back to before :smileyhappy:

AFM- Tomorrow Teddy is finally back at the Tagesmutter. Oh my gosh, I am thrilled. It has been almost 2 months since the month before I was with him in the States and I just know it will be great for him to get some more intensive time with other kids and for me to finally get stuff done that just can't be coordinated that well with a very active toddler. Like finally registering at the hospital :smileyvery-happy: It is just a formality (last time when I had to go to the hospital from the birth center I wasn't registered and it was no problem) but still I am excited about registering as I think it makes it even more real that there are just a few weeks to go. I also have another dr appt on Wednesday and I am excited to hear baby on the doppler, and to be at the new doctor whose appts don't include hours of wait time!

Ash - Sorry Teddy got you guys sick! I remember my sister complaining about that for a couple years with her daughter. Fiona would come down with something which would barely slow her down for a minute, and then my sister and her husband would be sick as dogs from it for days.

Glad Teddy's tagesmutter is back soon from her vacation. I'm sure the break to rest or just get stuff done on the days she's with him will be wonderful for you.

Adrienne - I appreciate all your thoughts on sex-after-baby. It's definitely an area where I will need to just let go a bit and see how it goes. I know being on restriction from intercourse during a fair amount of my pregnancy was really hard on me....yeah, we could do (and did) "other stuff," but for me it just wasn't the same after awhile. It didn't reconnect us in the same way or make me feel as intimate as the "real deal." But we'll see, I obviously can't have any idea at this point how I will feel 6 weeks post-baby, 6 months post-baby, etc.

I will say though, when I've had times of lower libido (during law school/bar study was a biggie from the stress), I've viewed sex kind of like exercise. Yeah, I might not be in the mood to do it, but sometimes I just push myself to do it anyway because I know once I get going and particularly afterward I'll feel SO good and be so glad I got off my lazy duff. So in the back of my head is that as a "plan" of sorts once I'm physically healed. I call it "taking one for the team" as if I'm doing dh a favor....but really it's mostly for me. It's because *I* feel so much better, happier, more relaxed, closer to him, in tune with my body, etc. afterward.
