Any exciting dates/appointments this month? Nope just the normal monthly appt, but if baby cooperates we should be able to find out the sex!
For those who have a bit longer to go:
What's on your to-do list to get ready for baby this month? Nothing! I have a midwife for after the birth, we know the hospital we want to go but it is too early to register, and I have a few searches open on Ebay for the bassinet I want.
Jenny- I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience but maybe it was for the best, as if there is a male doctor on call it is better if you feel at least a little comfortable with them because it isn't like you are unconscious or in tons of pain for the whole birth. I'm glad otherwise your appt went well!
I was anemic for the last pregnancy and also had luck with drinking this organic health drink for iron deficiency- it works a bit better then pills but it was disgusting so I often didn't take it. I don't know the generic name for it though and the brand I get here isn't sold in the States.
AFM: I had an appt yesterday, baby looked great. You could see the spine, arms, feet, heart, etc and all looked just as it should. I'm looking forward to finding out the sex but we have a fun stuff planned this month like a trip, friends coming for a weekend, Teddy's birthday, etc so I won't be hard to wait.I've gained 5 pounds which my doctor was happy about and I am neutral about. I've just accepted that the chances are high that this will be another big baby and that there isn't anything I can do about it. I'm enjoying this time where my stomach is still small and cute and I can fit into some non-maternity stuff :D
Any exciting dates/appointments this month? next Friday is the big u/s
For those of use that are getting close:
Have you had any "progress" in regards to effacement/dilation?
Do you feel like you will go early or late?
How are you feeling physically?
How are you feeling emotionally about labor and delivery?
For those who have a bit longer to go:
What's on your to-do list to get ready for baby this month? work on picking out a name, furniture, and getting started on baby's room which needs a total overhaul (like all the walls and ceiling ripped out to the studs, reinsulated and either plastered or wall boarded)
How are you feeling? finally past the ms and slowly regaining energy- my house actually looks and feels clean this week
Any exciting dates/appointments this month? er... the birth?:smileytongue:
For those of us that are getting close:
Have you had any "progress" in regards to effacement/dilation? NO idea, I suppose next appt will tell
Do you feel like you will go early or late? early (I think)
How are you feeling physically? tired, huge, heavy, sore... stretched to the limit!!!
How are you feeling emotionally about labor and delivery? Pretty calm... I really want to try an unmed birth this time, although I don't have much support from the system (people are not against it, they just can't "get it"). Other than that, Trying to prepare for the eventuality of things going different, just in case.
Elyse-I am so excited for your appt next week! I'm thinking pink but I don't really get "feelings" about sex- I just guess LOL. Do you have any names from last time you are considering?
Jamie- I hope your appt goes well tomorrow! We're going to Spain for a week right before Teddy turns 2 and we have to start paying for him on flights and at hotels. Stroller and car seat companies tend to have deals throughout the year which can be pretty good so starting to look early is a great idea.
Mari- Oh my gosh, you'll be having a baby this month!!! So exciting:) Just keep thinking positive thoughts about an unmed birth- read unmedicated positive birth stories, and focus on all the good stuff. Of course it makes sense to be prepared for all possibilities but no sense going in thinking it won't work :) I'm sure you will have a great birth!
Ash- to be honest, I have this super confident feeling that I'll be able to do it... which is why I feel like I need to prepare for the opposite, because if it doesn't work out, I fear I'll be really disappointed!! LOL!
One thing I will try this time is to stay at home for as long as possible, and walk, sit, shower and do whatever feels good. Last time I had to be on bed rest (water broke and baby wasn't engaged yet), and I think that was a huge factor in needing the epidural.
