Oh Mandy that is so exciting! A gender reveal at Christmas will be so special! :) You could wrap a present and have the asnwer inside, let Grandma or someone important (DD?) open it, how fun!!! :)

I know what you mean about your disappointment. So many people kept saying they wanted my baby to be a girl, or that they were sure it was a girl (my MIL especially). So part of it is feeling like I disappointed them! My MIL was even saying "granddaughter" for weeks, my sister asked for a niece (she has a son), etc. It's tough! When I posted "It's a boy!" on Facebook an old co-worker even posted "noooo, we wanted a girl!" instead of congrats! Can you believe that????

DH and I went to my nephews first middle school basketball game last night (he's in 7th grade). I kept looking at all the boys on the teams and wondering, will my son be a redhead? black hair? brown hair? blonde? I want to know now!!!! :) Now that I know the gender all I can think about is what he will look like. :)

Erin I was the exact opposite with my daughter. I wanted a boy and everyone thought boy that I was so dissapointed. :-( I even made her repeat what she thought it was. But it ended up being good. :-) I am trying not to get attached to any gender so I am not sooo dissapointed this time!

Oh YAY - just realized DH's geeky gaming computer loads this site just fine. I was SO frustrated especially because I wanted to join an expecting club. Hurray!

Christine - thank you so much!! I"m still in shock! I would LOVE to be added!!!!! If you go by my last CD1 then I'm due July 21, but I had late O and if you go by conception then I'm due July 28. So I'll let you pick a date. :P We are going to find out the sex, whatever colour that is!

Alyssa - thanks again. I'm so excited we are month buddies!!!!! :D That is heartbreaking for your SIL (DH's sister or your brother's wife?). To go through all that time and effort, and then joy, to have to start all over.... sigh. I'm thinking of you & your family!

Em - thank you!! Was the parade at least fun for the exhaustion?

aingeal - (I know your name, I DO, just can't remember!! Don't want to risk scrolling back pages.) Thank you!! I won't be shocked if it's a boy as DH is one of 4. (Didn't I mention that?! LOL) We just DON'T need another boy in the family!! Congrats on Team Blue!!! I know what you mean - I have no clue what to do with boys either. I just know they are apparently easier than girls!

Hi to everyone else, I'll start catching up on personals starting now.

AFM - Just scheduled my first doctor's appt, it's the 7th!  (He's on holidays & they're booked til then.)  Eeeee.  Of course DH works so here's hoping when he calls in sick/family day that they're not too ticked!

Jennifer - Welcome and Congrats! :)

Christine - I can't believe how stubborn Selin was in her ultrasounds! What a stinker ;) I was amazed at how quick and easy ours was. I had read/heard so many stories about things not being clear that I was bracing myself for not finding out the gender at all! Our first purchase at Target was a grey long sleeve onesie with a mustache on it :) Thanks for posting all the info for Jess!

Mandy - Glad you earned a little shopping money through the craft fair! What are you shopping for on Black Friday? And yay for your BP finally being under control, that's awesome.

Alison - BIG GIANT CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!!! :) So exciting. You're pregnant! Grow baby grow! I will be so curious to see if you do have a girl after all!

Alyssa - I'm very sorry for your friends loss, how sad.

Em - Santa Claus parade sounds like fun :) I can't wait to start doing stuff like that as a parent. Get some rest!

AFM - Thanks everyone for the congrats on our BOY (boy, boy, boy, I need to keep saying it so it will feel real!). It's so crazy to see a ticker with color on it and Team Blue next to my name! The ultrasound itself was truly amazing. Seeing the baby in such detail, seeing him move a few times. Unbelievable. I cried a little. Overall it was really quick though! Only took about 20 minutes! DH and I went to Target to buy a onesie afterwards and went out to breakfast before I had to be at work. I think we also nailed down the name, although I told DH I needed a few days to think about it to be sure. On my lunch break (DH had the whole day off Friday) we also went to Toys R Us and bought the baby his first teddy bear. I think I really was most mentally prepared to have a daughter, so wrapping my mind around having a boy is taking me a little time. Not disappointed per say, but having to adjust a lot of my expectations/things I was planning and looking forward to. Does that make sense? I honestly don't know what to do with a boy! I grew up with a sister, so I was 100% ready for girlie stuff. My DH was worried about me experiencing gender disappointment, but I really didn't feel shocked or surprised when the ultrasound tech did say "it's a boy" I just want to figure out how to be a good mom to a son!

I'm sorry to all of the girls here who are struggling with morning/all day sickness! I hope you all feel better soon, I don't know how you do it!

Only three days of work for me this week, thanks to Thanksgiving. Whoo hoo! Hope everyone has a nice week.

Erin - congrats on the boy!!! Nice to have some blue on the ticker page ;)

Jennifer - congrats and welcome to the thread!

Alison - SO SO Excited for you!!! I can imagine how sureal it must be for you. Sending you tons of sticky bean vibes!

Christine & Cassie - right there with you with the m/s --- and by that, I mean all-day sickness. Today was particularly bad. I felt horrible all day until about 6pm when it finally let up a bit. I'm hoping it's just because I was really busy at work the last few days and my body was just catching up. Let's home the 2T comes quickly for us and we feel better!

AFM - **warning: loss mentioned (not my own)** I found out that my SIL, who was about 13 weeks PG, lost her baby a couple days ago :( I feel so terrible for her. They were doing IVF - they did it before and it took three times before they had a sticky baby and now have a daughter who's turning 2 soon. They did IVF again a few months ago and it worked, they saw the baby on u/s at about 8 weeks and it looked good. So, I'm just so so sad for her that she lost the baby after being so far along (she just posted an announcement on FB and everything). My heart breaks for her :(

Cassie - Sorry to hear you're feeling cruddy. Nausea just plain sucks and it has totally affected my mood. I think I've found a pretty good remedy for starting the day off fairly nausea-free...

Before I get out of bed, I eat some crackers and sit up in bed for at least 10 minutes. I did that yesterday and today and was nausea-free all the way up until late afternoon, which is way better than all day. I notice that if I jump out of bed and don't eat anything then I set myself up for MAJOR nausea all day long. And once hunger sets in, forgetaboutit, nausea comes back, no matter what I snack on, so it's like I have to eat before I might get hungry, which is hard to do when nothing sounds good to eat. I just came home from the grocery store and bought another two cases of ginger ale because it's the only thing "ginger" that seems to help me.

Hang in there. Here's hoping we'll both be feeling much better in the 2T! ;-)
