So DH made my 20 week ultrasound for me yesterday. My midwives' office wants you in there between 18 and 20 weeks and apparently they are very picky about it. DH made the appointment for November 11th since he doesn't have to take a day off work to go then and the person making the appointment commented that was the last day I could have one and be in the 20 week window. Since it was the start of week 20.

Seriously people? I mean I know people like the ultrasound early and all, but I really don't think 20 weeks 1 day vs 20 weeks makes that big of a difference, actually I am almost positive it doesn't since 2 years ago with Eloise's ultrasound we were out of the country when I was 20 weeks pregnant and didn't get the ultrasound till I was 22 weeks pregnant and no one had an issue then. Same ultrasound lab and everything.

I mean I get it that people like to have them early, but I really don't see the issue with 20 weeks plus or minus 1 day vs 18 weeks.

In other news I still haven't gone in for the lab work you are suppose to do at the beginning of pregnancy because I have to do an early glucose test at the same time, thanks to having GD with Desmond (though I am still doubtful that I really had it, I failed the test by 1 point, seriously I needed under 120 and had 120), but not with Eloise. There is no way I can drag a 1 year old and a 3 year old with me to a lab while I get blood work, just isn't going to happen. I figure I'll go next week sometime while Desmond is in preschool. Then at least I only have to deal with one child while having blood drawn rather then two.

Other then that not much going on here, I am hoping the exhaustion, hunger and getting up every 2 hours to pee at night stops soon, since I am 10 weeks pregnant now and will soon be in the second trimester. Everything seems to be proceeding fine otherwise though.

Oh we still haven't told anyone. My in-laws are coming over to babysit the small ones tomorrow evening for us, so I need to make sure I hide the package from the OB and my appointment card. I still haven't felt the need to tell anyone yet, I am sure we'll get around to it eventually, probably before the 20 week ultrasound. I mean we have to tell at least my in-laws before the baby arrives since otherwise we won't have anyone to watch Desmond and Eloise while I am in the hospital giving birth. I just haven't felt the need to announce it yet, which is weird and totally different then with Desmond and Eloise when I couldn't keep quiet at all.

Sarah, that is crazy that they are making such a stink about a day. It really seems like one or two days wouldn't make that much of a difference in a 2 week window.

Adrienne, thanks for setting up the thread! I can't believe it is September already, and I can't believe how close to the top you are!

School started today around here, and I am just exhausted. I have 25 1st graders this year. They are such babies at the beginning of the year! I still need to call and make an appointment with OB #3, but I keep forgetting to during business hours. Hopefully they'll be able to see me soon!

I've been telling more and more people. Still not everyone though. I ran into a good friend yesterday and she asked when DH and I were going to start having kids, and I replied, 'Oh, mid March or so!' It was great.

Hi to everyone! Hope you're doing well!

Kate--Done! You are "officially" on the green team now! Though I'm guessing girl for you based purely on statistics. That is, the rest of us seem to be having boys so SOMEONE has got to have a girl.

Sarah--I can't believe they are making such a big deal about the timing. My midwife seemed to think anytime between the beginning of week 18 and the end of week 22 would be just fine. I can't believe that 20 weeks 1 day is not good enough, crazy.

It's funny that you aren't feeling the need to share this time around. I wonder why that is?

Emmy--"I can't believe how close to the top you are!" ME EITHER. I was just edited the thread and realized I'm like the 4th one down and I couldn't believe it. Though the thread HAS shrunk considerably because we had a TON of people due in August.

I'm so happy for you that you are getting to the telling people stage. After keeping mum for what seemed like forever, it was SO nice to be able to talk to people about it and have them fawn over me, hehe.

25 first graders seems like a BIG class. I hope you don't have any that are too tough!

AFM--It's been hot here the last few days. Not as unbearably as it was a few weeks ago, but still bad.

Also, one of my cats went missing after we heard a pack of coyotes across the street a couple nights ago. Not a good coincidence, IMO. Another one was also missing, (but not for as long), but he turned up tonight. I was SO relieved, losing one cat is bad enough; if we'd ended up losing two within a day of each other I think I wouldn't have handled it very well. The one that is still missing (Monty) DOES tend to be gone for days at a time so I'm REALLY hoping he turns up soon. Please keep your fingers crossed that he is okay!

Adrienne ~ Sorry about your cat. I hope he comes home soon. Fingers crossed he's OK.

Emmy ~ Wow... 25 1st graders is a lot. DS started 1st yesterday, he has 19 kids in his class. That's a great line how your told your friend about when you were starting a family. Perfect comeback.

Sarah ~ Your OB office sounds like a pain, I can't believe they are really making such a fuse about a day. They must be related to my OB office.

AFM ~ Now that I am at 16 weeks we can start signing up for birth class, breast feeding classes, etc, etc. Hopefully things will slow down next week at work and I can make a few calls.

My SIL offered to host a baby shower for me, but I have a problem w/ that. Don't get me wrong I love my SIL, but if she hosts she won't allow (and therefore won't invite) my Godmother (my aunt). They didn't show up to my wedding because I invited her. I don't know what there deal it, my aunt doesn't understand either. And I am not getting in the middle of it.

Oh Adrienne ~ I think it's a girl as well (Ok, if it's not because then we'll be trying for another without a doubt)... my reasoning... when I was PG w/ Ray my curly hair went pin straight... this time around it's still curly.

Kate--That is exciting that you can start signing up for classes!

What a PITA with your family! This should be about YOU, not their drama. :-/

Mari--Thanks for the good vibes! He actually came home today (for about five minutes). I was SOOO glad to see him.

AFM--I had my midwife appointment today. I've gained 21 pounds, James David is head up and very kicky, and most excitedly, I passed my glucose test! Woooooooot.

Now I start having appts every 2 weeks, I can't believe it!

Adrienne – thanks for starting the thread! So glad your cat came back and that you passed your glucose test!

Sarah – ITA that it’s ridiculous that your midwife’s office is so strict about the date of the u/s! It’s interesting that you just don’t feel like telling people this time. Maybe because it’s your third, you feel like keeping it as a nice secret for yourself?

Emmy – I couldn’t imagine trying to handle 25 1st graders right now! So glad you’re starting to tell people!

Kate – yay for signing up for birth classes! We have ours in a couple weeks. Sorry about the family drama – hopefully they can figure it out amongst themselves.

**waving hi to everyone else**

AFM – this week has been brutal weather-wise, but thankfully it has cooled down a bit and is raining today. The weekend is supposed to be cooler too!

Pregnancy-wise, next week I’ll be getting my glucose test done, and a few other blood tests. I’ll also be starting another pre-natal aquafit class, and I’m really looking forward to it!

Emmy: 25 first graders, wow that is a lot, and to think I am having trouble with 1 3 year old and 1 18 month old *grin*. Hope you get that call into OB#3 soon.

Adrienne: I hope your cat is found safe and sound. Congrats on passing the glucose test!

Kate: Congrats about being far enough along to sign up for classes. Hopefully you find someone else to host your shower so your aunt is invited.

Alyssa: The aquatic class sounds like a lot of fun. I know I enjoy the water when I am pregnant, it is just so nice and relaxing.

As for me: I broke out my maternity clothes today and they fit, eek! I noticed last night that my regular shirts were really tight so I decided to try a maternity shirt today and my pants were kind of tight too, my maternity pants fit really well right now. Last time they didn't really fit till I was 5+ months, sigh. I guess it is true that with more pregnancies you fit into the maternity clothes early. I wasn't really planning on pulling them out at 10 weeks though, I was kind of hoping to make it till 4 months at least.

Other then that not much else going on, still haven't told anyone, will probably start telling people around September 25th or so when we go on a weekend vacation with my parents to Sesame Place. I am not sure I will be able to hide it much past then anyways. Will probably tell my in-laws around the same time.
