Oh, I think we'll miss each other this time around, too, Anna -- but you're so sweet! We're not thinking about TTC quite yet. I think we're going to start talking about it next year... no definite plans, but I think we might start TTCing around Eliza's second birthday. As you can see, there are a lot of maybs, mights and 'I thinks'! So, who knows! :)

Emmy--Congrats again on your little girl! I'll change you to the pink team when I do the October thread. Are you and DH thinking of names yet?

As far as weight gain goes--I gained almost nothing the first trimester (I think 3 lbs), and then between 15-25 weeks I gained like 15 lbs, and then I've seriously only gained a couple pounds since then. I've heard of a lot of people who gained really similarly--I'm also still expecting to put on another 5-10 pounds right at the end.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry or let your doc get you worked up--just eat when you are hungry, as much as you want, with plenty of healthy choices, and your body will gain when/how it needs to.

Anna--Actually it is some kind of evolutionary rule that babies tend to more strongly resemble their Dads in the first year of life. I guess the theory is that if the Dad can tell that the baby is theirs, they are less likely to abandon it. ;-) So who knows, maybe he will end up looking a bit like me? Though deep down I always thought he would be a little mini-James. Hehehe.

And yeah, that makes sense about the girl/boy mistakes. It certainly seems easier to "miss" the boy parts than see them and somehow be wrong still. We wanted a double check with our 3D u/s and he is definitely a boy! We could even see that his testicles have descended, hehe!

AFM--We have a midwife appointment today, and she comes to our house, and I feel SOOOO unprepared for her. I'm still recovering for being sick and our house is just a complete disaster. She's not one to judge but I'm still embarrassed. Sigh. Maybe I will drink some tea and try to get motivated. I've just been feeling so lazy since we got back from vacation.

Emmy, congrats again on having a girl :-) are you and DH thrilled?

Ella, oh thanks :-) I guess I didn't really announce it. I was actually wondering - what are your plans for #2? We just about missed being pregnant together last time so maybe it will work out this time...? :-)

Adrienne - I loved the u/s pics! Funnily enough babies always look like their dads when they are born; and then sometimes the features change later. Teddy was the spitting image of Matt when he was born, but now he looks a lot more like me.
As for the girl u/s - I would double check because I have heard it so many times that people have been told it was a girl, and then it turned out to be a boy! Whereas if they see boy bits there's no mistaking it ;-) I don't mind what it is this time, possibly leaning slightly towards a boy (51-49 balance), but DH is still desperate for a girl so I wouldn't want to see him disappointed after a wrong guess by a sonographer.

I'm kinda behind, so I'm just going to do my best and try to keep up in October!

Sara and Molly, welcome to the thread and congrats on your pregnancies!

Anna, I hope the m/s eases up some. I also hope that Leila and Missy and Cortney and everyone else in the 6+ thread join us soon. It's time.

Sarah, I hope everything went well with Eloise's appointment. I'll be curious to see if you end up team green or not!

Alyssa, yay for getting a shower! I hope that your scan on Friday goes perfectly.

Kate, yay for being half way! What a great marker to pass!

Cheryl, how exciting to have your big reveal soon! Fun!

Adrienne, I hope you are feeling better. Yay for James flipping! How exciting to see what James looks like!

Hi to those I missed!

Everything is going well with me. Just plugging a long. Work is still kicking my butt and my team members are driving me a little crazy. I'm exhausted. I don't know that I am eating enough, as I still haven't gained any weight. I eat when I'm hungry, but seem to fill up fast. I haven't put on the 3 pounds my dr. wanted by this point. I'm sure I'll catch up though!

Sara--I'm glad to hear that head down was more comfortable for you! I'm hoping I am the same way!

And apparently James IS head down! I was feeling a lot of movement last night so I guess he flipped! He's still sort of at an angle but his head is down way more than it has been and his butt is now right up under my ribs (apparently) but so far it is much more comfortable than I was before (woot!).

I hear you on the in-law thing. Some people are just insensitive and don't really realize the impact of what they are saying. Hopefully it goes okay!

And Yay for our first June baby! I will add you to the October front page (I can't believe it is nearly October)!

Sarah--I can see how this would be the time to go for team green since you have everything you need! It is pretty darn convenient that they were ALL born at the same time of year!

Thanks for the support about the population thing. All three of my sisters are really into the idea of adoption, which honestly I would also love to do, but I think they don't realize that in a lot of ways, adopting is 10x harder and more expensive than having a biological child. International adoption is complicated and expensive, and foster-to-adopt is a ton of work and can be heartbreaking. I would like to be a foster parent in the future but right now I just want to have biological kids! And I agree with you that we don't have a population issue in the US. In general I think population problems come from a lack of education and available BC, not from people CHOOSING to have a lot of kids. When a population gets better educated and better healthcare, etc, the population falls automatically, so that is where our focus should be (IMO).

I hope the doctor doesn't give you a hard time about Eloise being petite. From my understanding, as long as she is gaining steadily, there is no reason to worry. And of course she is obviously healthy and happy so it's not like she is deprived or something. I think you are right, she has always just been small, that is who she is! KUP anyway!

Anna--I agree, it would be nice if Missy and Leila would join us as well. I was really excited to read yesterday that Leila is going to go for IVF--I really think that will do it for her!

Are you double-checking the girl because you want one badly and you are afraid to be attached and then disappointed? Or because you want another boy?

Kate (Mom of Ray)-- Congrats on hitting 20 weeks!! WOOOHOOO! Isn't that a great feeling! Plus in just another month or so he/she will be really viable, which I felt like was a huge milestone for my worrying . . . ;-)

Alyssa--Awwww that is so exciting about the shower!! I know you really wished you were getting one, so I can imagine how happy you are. :-)

My weight gain has also tapered off--I think I've only gained a pound or two in the last month! It's so funny how similar our gaining has been all along!

AFM--We had our 3D u/s today and it was awesome!! Like I said, James is almost totally down, so I guess he heard my mental vibrations yesterday! Hehe. I wonder if him turning was part of the reason for all the BH I was having yesterday?

Anyway, he looks EXACTLY like his Daddy--he definitely has James' nose, neck, the set of his eyes. James thinks he MIGHT have my chin but he has a very square jaw and idk if that would be evident on a tiny baby anyway, or if it would be more of a puberty thing. He also has at least some hair and attached earlobes, hehe!!

I'll need James to help me scan the pics tonight, but I'll definitely be posting them after that!

Cheryl – good to hear from you! I can’t believe how far along you are already. I’m glad the m/s has gone down a bit.

Anna – so sorry about the m/s hitting hard this time :( Hopefully it won’t last as long as you’re thinking. Mine started just a few DPO, but got better at about 9 weeks. It’s good that you’ve found some things that make it a bit better. That’s quite the dream you had!

Kate (kdoerpholz) – Congrats on getting to the 20 week mark! Amazing how fast it’s gone by! Sounds like you’re making progress on the nursery. Ugh about the lobster. That is NOT fun.

Brita – sorry you’re feeling queasy all day long. That’s what I was like too – not enough to throw up, but just enough to feel terrible 24/7 :S I hope it gets better soon.

Sarah – thanks for sharing your experiences about being anxious about the birth/motherhood. It does make me feel better that I’m not alone in my worries! That is incredibly annoying that your Mom mentioned a vasectomy 3-4 times. You would hope she’d lay off that at least for the weekend you made your announcement to them. Glad you had a good weekend otherwise. I hope Eloise’s appointment goes well today and the doctor isn’t worried about her weight.

Sara – nice to see you in the thread! Glad the m/s isn’t too bad (no vomiting). Hopefully you can start to eat other foods, but at least the ones you can eat are healthy! I can understand half being excited/half dreading your IL’s visit. I feel the same way about mine.

Adrienne – good to see you back! Thanks for thinking of me on your trip – it was a scary day or so there for a bit. That’s terrible you were sick during your vacation. But, like you said, at least you were able to lie on a beach while recovering! I feel you on being uncomfortable. The list of positions I can be in is getting shorter and shorter. Hope the 3D u/s goes well today (and that he flips afterward :D)!! I can’t believe with all the early babies in this thread that you’re NEXT!!! Ack!!!

AFM – a friend of mine messaged me last night, saying that she’d like to host a small baby shower for me at our next book club meeting!! I nearly cried, I thought it was so sweet! I was not expecting to get a shower at all, so I’m really excited about it :D

Otherwise, my midwife appointment on Monday went well. I only gained 0.5 pounds since my last appointment (10 days before) and my belly measurement stayed the same (still 37 weeks! LOL!). Since I am still measuring ahead, I have another u/s coming up on Friday. They will do more measurements of the fluid levels and the baby’s size. I’m not that worried about it though.

Adrienne - thanks! :-) Yeah it is cool to be pregnant together (if only for a little while)! I just wish the rest of our original group will join us too (Missy and Leila). The 4D scan sounds so exciting, I can't wait to see the pics! I have said to myself that in case they tell me it's a girl at the 20w scan, I will pay for a private 3D/4D scan, just to double check! LOL.

Sarah - I really like the name Genevieve Mira. I hope the Dr will be ok with Eloise's weight gain - one of Teddy's friends is really tiny too but I think by now the Drs are ok with her as she's "staying on her line" as it were.

Sara: with Desmond the only food that sounded good to me the entire the pregnancy were salads, fruit and mashed potatoes. Congrats on joining the thread. Good luck on no vomiting.

I know the feeling of not having much to buy, this one is due 3 weeks after Eloise's birthday and a week before Desmond's birthday so I have tons of clothes for them girl or boy in the right season at least through summer.

Congrats on your soon to be nephew. Sorry about your MIL insisting on staying with you. Hopefully she will decide a hotel is a nice option after the first night.

Anna: Sorry about the bad morning sickness. Pregnancy dreams can be so weird, and vivid.

Kate: Light Green sounds like a nice nursery color. This one isn't even getting a nursery since both Desmond and Eloise never used our nursery, it is now Eloise's room. Baby will be staying in bed with me for the first year at least and then we'll decide if they are staying with me longer or how we are organizing the small ones in the other two upstairs bedrooms.

Adrienne: Mira is pronounced Meer-a. I'm still debating on Green Team, if I can figure out a name I like for a boy I will probably go for it. I think it would be fun to do it once and since this is likely our last, it is my last chance. Plus since I have everything I need for either gender, it isn't a huge deal not to find out till birth.

Sorry your sister is being a pain about you already thinking about a second. My brother made the overpopulation comment to me and I commented to him that the population rates in almost all industrialized nations are falling and I am just trying to keep the population stable rather then watch it fall. I mean the US is already under the birth rate needed to sustain our population and we really don't want to fall too low like Japan or even China.

My nipples are a little better but still chapped. I'd think it was the nursing, but both are chapped and the side I am nursing on is less chapped then the side I am not nursing on. That being said nipple butter seems to be helping more then lanolin so I'm hoping they feel better soon.

Sorry you are sick, hope you feel better soon! Good luck on getting James to switch out of transverse position. And yes butt and feet in the ribs is pretty horrible. Especially when they press rather then just kicking!

Congrats on being next on the list to have a baby!

As for me: Not much going on here since yesterday. I am thinking about getting my bloodwork done tomorrow afternoon since DH is home because Eloise has her 18 month appointment in the morning. I am hoping her appointment goes well. She was 19 pounds when I measured her today on our scale, so hopefully the doctor is okay with the 12 ounces she gained in the past 3 months. She really is genetically predisposed to be tiny so I am not really worried, but I think she may have just fallen off the charts for weight, so I am not sure that the doctor is going to be quite as sanguine about it.
