So are you guys weekend warriors? We have had a new gas stove in our living room (yea, not the kitchen) for the last 5 months, literally. We can't install the gas line on our own and have been too lazy to get estimates from contractors.

How's it going with the whole insurance debacle?

Thanks, Molly! I don't think it's baby yet, per say, unless my uterus just decided to flop out too soon, lol. It's probably just me being bloated and having a little extra pudge to start with. I'm excited to start showing though cause I want to tell our friends sooner than DH does and if I'm showing sooner, it's more reason for me to get my way ;)

Have you had any b/w? It would drive me crazy to have to fly on a HPT until 8 weeks along!

Happy Monday, ladies!

Adrienne – so cute about the hiccups! I think Evan gets them quite a bit (a couple times a day). It’s a bit weird actually. I’m bumping into things with my belly too. It’s funny how we can almost forget it’s there, or at least not realize how big it really is!

Emmy – I love the flowy summer dresses. They work really well for pre-maternity clothes. Hope school is still going well!

Lisa – I hope the water/Gatorade thing worked!

Sarah – have you told your IL’s yet, or are you still going to wait? At least you have a back up plan for someone to watch Desmond and Eloise in case they end up going out of town.

Amber – thanks for the update! I’m hoping we see a birth story post from you soon!

Kate – LOL about you torturing your mom (or at least her thinking you are)! Love your new siggie! Sounds like you guys are getting some good stuff done around the house.

Molly – congratulations and welcome to the thread! I hope you can stay sane until your first appointment in October.

Kate (kbevie) – welcome to the group as well! How exciting that we have a few new people joining!

Leona – sorry everything seems so stressful right now. I hope you had a great time at your shower and received lots of fun and useful gifts!

AFM – I had my GD test last week, and will get the results back (along with the results of the u/s I had a couple weeks ago) at our midwife appointment this Friday. Hopefully everything is looking good!

The weather has cooled down and I have been feeling a lot better lately. I seem to have a bit more energy, which is nice! This weekend we organized Baby G’s room, and I think we have pretty much everything. I do need to get some nursing bras, but I’m going to wait until closer to the due date to get those.

Emmy-- I know what you mean about the clothes thing--"What I find so strange though, is that even though I am 20 pounds lighter than I was at this time a year ago, pants and capris that I wore a year ago don't fit." I had the same thing. Over the last 5 years or so I had gone down from a size ten to an 8 to a 6, and I had saved a lot of these bigger pants thinking I could wear them when I got pregnant. More recently I even saved some size 12-14 pants that my sisters were getting rid of.

Well, apparently it doesn't work like that, LOL. I mean, The size 8's were great like as soon as I got the positive test, and I was able to wear the size 10's a little bit after that, but it's not like they REALLY fit. They just fit better than the 6's, which isn't saying much. They would be tight still in some places and falling off at the same time! And of course, the 12-14's didn't work at ALL.

When I bought maternity pants I thought I had gone to heaven, I swear. I hope you've picked some up by now, they are like a gift from God.

Anyway, sorry to hear that your class is low--at least you have a shorter year with them and you are into the second trimester. I had a lot of energy and felt great in the second tri, so hopefully you do, too, and can handle them easily. :-)

Sarah--So did you tell your in-laws yet?

Amber--Good to "see" you, though I certainly hope you aren't still pregnant NOW! Sorry to hear that your induction didn't work but I guess she just wasn't ready yet! Cute belly pic! Aww.

Kate (Mom of Ray)--Long Island was great, thanks for asking! My cousin's husband works on Wall Street and they are ridiculously well-off for being our age. They bought a 2 million dollar mansion last year and they redid the basement before the party--complete with bar, exercise room, and MOVIE THEATER (I'm so not exaggerating). So it was fun to see their house and see all the family.

Your BBQ sounds fun!! LOL about having DH clean up the mess.

About Ray when you go to the hospital--I'm sure it will all work out okay. I'm sure you'll have SOME indications that labor is on its way before you really need to go to the hospital, and 40 mins isn't actually that long. They say it is better to labor at home for longer anyway, so I bet it will work out great.

Molly--WELCOME TO THE THREAD!! I feel like it so cool--that you were WTT and I was TTCing FOREVER (seriously people, Molly and I have probably been here on IV together for like 4 years) and now here we both are, finally pregnant. Yay! I'm so excited for you!

Remind me again to add you to the front page if I forget. May 14th! I'll have everything crossed for a good u/s in October! Peeing all the time is a good sign, since it is hormonal at this point.

Kate (Mom of Liam and Grace)-- Welcome to the thread!!! I have a good feeling about this bean as well! Getting a dark HPT in the beginning was always a good sign for me. :-)

I'm 27 as well and got married in October 2006--I had no idea had so much in common, hehe.

Okay, May 13th--Remind me if I forget!! Hehe.

Leona--I know what you mean about being unengaged. I think it's kind of a nesting thing. I definitely haven't been online or on the boards as much--I'm just more focused on me. I guess it seems natural as you get so close to your life changing so much.

Yay for ordering the carseat. I SO relate to the mental hurdles--sometimes certain (easy) things just are SO hard to do!! But you could have the LO at any time now, so I think it's good your carseat is on the way!!

Sorry for the mess in your apartment--I had that same issue but I've known it for the whole pregnancy and I've been working on it the entire time. I didn't even plan on doing a baby room, but I did plan on cleaning the rest of the house, and I'm almost done with that, which is a first (seriously, we moved into this house 4 years ago and its never been completely cleaned and organized). Now all our junk is all in one room instead of in five--it is a major accomplishment.

Anyway, I think at 36 weeks you have to let it go and just roll with it. I have SO much less energy than I did a month ago, I can't imagine how you must feel. Is there anyone that could come help you and DH clean it out? Having someone else there always helps to motivate me a lot.

I hope your shower was awesome! That stinks that you are getting stuck with a lot of the organization for it, but it sounds like you are handling it pretty well. If I were you, I would be freaking out, so you are doing great! ;-)

Alyssa--I hope everything looked great with the GD test! Can't wait to hear! I am feeling better, more energy, loving the cooler weather, as well. It's so funny how you and I seem to be going through the EXACT same things at the same time, hehe.

AFM--Back to the cleaning and organizing, my parents were here to help us with that this weekend. My Dad helped James clean out the basement and garage (the garage especially was a HUGE HUGE job), and my Mom helped me finished putting away all our books, cleaning the laundry room, this sideboard in the kitchen--all the little spots that accumulate junk. I feel so much more ready now. Yay!

Oh and our custom cradle mattress, sheets, and mattress cover arrived. It is so cute to see the little cradle next to our bed and all ready for the baby! Heheh.

Generally, sorry I've been so MIA on this thread. Like I said, I haven't been on the computer as much in general, but I'm going to try to do a better job of keeping up.

I can't believe we only have 9 weeks left. (Or 7 or 11, my midwife likes to remind me). I'm starting to hope that my shower ends up being pretty soon (it is a surprise), because I want to get everything cleaned and organized and set up for the baby. I think it is probably in October, though, so I still have awhile to wait.

Since I haven't seen my in-laws yet we haven't told them. Desmond went and spent the day Friday there, but my MIL had something on Saturday and needed Sunday to recover so we didn't all go up this weekend. We may not tell next weekend either, since they have friends from India visiting. If the shirt I ordered for Eloise arrives in time though, I may stick her in it when she goes to spend the day with them next Friday though. I haven't decided yet. The big issue is if we don't tell them next Sunday I won't see them again till October 3rd most likely, and I think we want to tell them before that. DH and I will have to decide how and when we want to tell them, since our schedule and their schedule just isn't meshing right for a day with only the 6 of us there, until October.

In other news, nothing much else is happening, I'm starting to have more energy as trimester 1 comes to a close! I have had no morning sickness so far, just a bit of nausea, which really isn't much. It has been even better then with Eloise and Desmond, which is saying a lot, since I think I threw up once each with them. I also swear I can feel the baby move, but it seems to early. It feels like a baby though, so maybe I am, I've been feeling it for over a week now, but it just seems so early. I felt Eloise around 14 weeks if I remember right, but 10 and 11 weeks seems really early, especially considering how small baby is right now.

Oh I still haven't done my bloodwork, I'm thinking next Saturday morning maybe. I need to get it done soon so it is done before my next appointment though.

We did order a big sister shirt for Eloise to wear from ETSY, we had gotten a big brother shirt for Desmond when I was pregnant with Eloise. Other then that things have been really quiet on the pregnant front, I can't believe I am almost 12 weeks pregnant and haven't told anyone yet! I am going to be in the 2nd trimester soon and no one knows.

Adrienne - I would hope this time around I have some indication that labor was on it's way, with Ray I didn't. I went to the DR's on Friday and was "maybe 1cm" dilated and not effaced at all. He was born less than 24 hours later (which seems to be happening a lot around here lately). My water broke around 6:30am and he was born 8 hours after that (contractions didn't really start consistency until 3 hours after my water broke). And they say subsequent labors go faster, so you can bet I will be heading out as soon as I know it's time.

Kim--Actually I felt awful around 26/27 weeks--my back was killing me, I couldn't find a comfortable position to sleep in, and I had constant heartburn. But low and behold, a week or so later and I felt just fine. Still dealing a tiny bit with all those things but the wave of how-will-I-deal-for-13-more-weeks definitely passed and I've been feeling way better the last couple weeks. I hope the same is true for you and it is just a discomfort "phase" and not something that will get worse until he gets here.

Do you have any names picked out, BTW?

Sarah--Congrats on no m/s and getting some energy back!! I also can't believe you are almost to the 2nd tri! Time freaking flies in pregnancy.

Some of the ladies on my EC SWEAR that they felt movement as early as you are feeling it--I don't know! It was more than one of the ladies--it was like 5 of them. It seems too early to me but maybe you have a really active one in there, who knows!

KUP on telling the in-laws . . . and what about telling your parents? We told NO ONE until 12 weeks or so, so it doesn't seem that weird to me, but if I recall, you told right away with Eloise (and maybe Desmond, too?), so I can see why it feels weird to you in that case.

Kate--That is a nice quick labor! I am hoping for it to be pretty quick for me as well, but since we're having a home-birth and our midwife lives 5 mins away I definitely don't have any "getting to the hospital on time" kind of worries to consider. I do want my parents to be here (they live 1.5 hours away), so the only thing I am thinking about is that I hope I realize it is the "real thing" in time for them to get here. Anyway, hopefully everything works out just fine with Ray.
