Pregnancy Grumbles!

Since misery loves company I thought it would be great if we all could post here when we are having bad days due to morning sickness, crazing hormones, awful indigestion, back aches, etc.

I'll start:D

I threw up today due solely (I think) to all the acid that rises in my stomach no matter what I eat. I had just had plain pasta with a teensy bit of tomato sauce and five minutes later I was at the toilet:(.

The heartburn can be so painful and I think it had been rising since last night so throwing up did make me feel better but just for good measure I ate a small bag of doritos afterward. It might not be good for my stomach but it did improve my mood LOL.

Thanks to everyone for commiserating with my grumble:).

It's interesting what someone (maybe Jen?) said about husbands seeing the 1T as a possible preview of how life will be affected by baby, since so many of are hit hard by m/s, fatigue, etc.) Maybe that's part of what's gotten into my DH...

I did try to reassure him that I didn't see any reason why he wouldn't be able to watch hockey and football, etc, when the baby comes. I mean, he's really not the type of guy to go out all the time, anyways, so other than possible sleep disruptions, I don't see a lot of ways that his life will be negatively changed. I should mention though that he always has a lot of trouble with change, no matter good or bad.

Anyways, I do want to have a talk with him about this more...last night it just wasn't happening because I was so sick. We do need to talk about our fears and anxieties as the pregnancy progresses, but he also needs to know that I don't want to hear it when I'm on the verge of puking! (Which is like 24-7 these days.) (Incidentally, I do find that any fears I have about motherhood are totally on hold since the m/s has been bad. All I can think about is getting through the day, trying to eat some decent food, hoping that I'll feel better soon, and remembering that I'm doing it all for the baby I'll get to hold in about 7 months.)

Oh, and I'm sure sex would make us both feel better, too, but that will have to wait until I'm not so pukey, as well:).

Marianna – I totally know what you mean! Every growth spurt brings a period of physical adjustment, so you will feel better soon, though not all the way better. It’ll be painful to stand for too long from now on. It’ll also be painful to sit in a firm or hard seat for too long. Fun! It does get better!

I have been really sniffly, too! I'm actually glad to read that this can be a pregnancy symptom, and therefore doesn't necessarily mean I'm getting a cold.

Christine - I'm sorry that you have been achey! It is good news that your body is preparing to deliver your little munchkin, but we all deserve to grumble a little about the unpleasant side of pregnancy, and this is the right place:).

I feel the need to grumble a little today:). Okay, so I'm thrilled to be 12.5 weeks along in my pregnancy - couldn't be happier about that. But, I have to say, I'm ready for the "morning" sickness to go away any day now. I'm tired of eating being a chore rather than something I look forward to and enjoy. I'm tired of spending hours of the day feeling as though I'm on the verge of throwing up...worried about the simplest thing like brushing my teeth or taking a vitamin getting things started. Oh, and I'm tired of waking up at 4 or 5 am lately, needing to eat something, and the crackers beside the bed are never appealing. I do think it's getting better in some ways, but I slept like crud last night, so I think that's making me feel worse. Blech! Okay, end of rant!

I do know what you mean! That 1T nausea & food misery is awful! Unfortunately I always have issues with food & eating throughout PG. I am not nauseous, thatnk my lucky stars, but I get very picky & certain smells & such still turn me off. I'll be glad to be done with PG & go back to having a

I hope you start feeling better soon! I tell you, those first 3 months were like a nightmare for me. I just felt so awful that I couldn't even warm up to the idea of the pregnancy!!! And to be honest, I didn't have it as hard as some of the other girls.... It's just tough. But as soon as it goes away, it will become a memory blur and in a few weeks you won't even think about it. Prepare yourself, you are about to start the 2T and it is THE BEST!!!

I do have one or two grumbles though... First it's my achy body... Geez... Most of the times I'm my usual self, but there are some movements that really hurt in very unsuspected places!!!!! But... I guess it's part of the game! :)

The other one is actually a question... Has any of you had this feeling of being "short of breath"? I've not fainted, but since about a week or so I have moments where I feel like there is not enough air around me, and my legs and arms get incredibly heavy... I wonder if it is

i know that in the 3T, baby and uterus are big enough that they push on your diaphragm and reduce your lung capacity, so maybe that's what you're experiencing?

my current grumble was totally something i didn't see coming.
