Second Trimester Chat August

Here is the place to talk about things specifically related to the second trimester:)

There is still going to be a general pregnancy chat so no one should feel left out or anything like that- just thought this would help with the huge amount of posts in one thread, which can be overwhelming.

Christine, thanks for thinking about me. I have been really really tired. I ran the store over nights pretty much by myself for three nights. One of those nights I didn't even have a CSM (the front in person who takes care of the cashiers) so I was all over the place that night. This week has really worn my down. I got home this morning and DH laid down with me at roughly 9:30 and didn't come wake me up till after 7PM tonight. I slept most of the day yesterday as well. If I can just make it through till Tuesday morning.

Other then working nothing is going on here. Little over a week until the big u/s. DH still has not said if he is coming or not. He starts classes tomorrow so I guess we will see how his first week of classes go.

As for the baby shower, I'm not the kind of person to just come out and ask. Even more so since here in town my friends are really work friends there is only one I have hung out with outside. I just think its

Christine - Yep, I'm in CO. I don't know much about where to stay in Denver. I'm not a fan of the city. If you'd like something romantic & cozy I'd recommend Boulder. You can drive into Denver in 45 minutes if there's something there that you want to see, but stay in a wonderful B&B & enjoy being right on the foot of the mountain. There are great walking/ hiking trails right on the edge of town if you like the outdoorsy stuff. Also the Pearl street mall (out door walking mall# is lots of fun. There are often outdoor performers, if the weather is decent, as well as nice shops & delicious restaurants.
There are two B&B's I can suggest. In the middle of town is the Briar Rose B&B #same name as my cat who was 1 Y.O. when I moved to Boulder - I worked there when I first came to CO). It's a lovely place, though I've never been a guest. http://www.briarrosebb.com/
DH & I spent our 5 year anniversary at the Alps Boulder Canyon Inn. It's just a few minutes into the canyon from Boulder. If I recall correctly it took us 10 minutes to get from the B&B to the restaurant on Pearl Street, so it's not far, but gives you the feel of being up in the mountains. It's a very nice place. http://www.alpsinn.com/
If you prefer to stay in Denver then I'm no help. Sorry!

Cassie - So sorry work is so difficult right now! I'm glad you're at least able to get make-up sleep during the day. I can see where you wouldn't want to ask about the baby shower if your friends are mostly work friends. That's kind of an odd spot. Hopefully someone will see the need & make the offer. I never had a shower with my first, but did with my second. It was lots of fun. I

Christine- yes, I've had them (now that I'm aware of them i feel them easier). but none was painful... (TMI warning) I had a pretty strong one a couple days ago after DTD, but not painful... I suppose the orgasm's contractions triggered it. But

I remember you wrote some time ago about wanting to have a home birth because you were not happy with your previous experiences... Could you tell me why?

Well, it may take me a while, but the short version is;

In a hospital it's all medicine & doctors. Giving birth is
