Third Trimester Chat August

Here is the place to talk about things specifically related to the third trimester:)

There is still going to be a general pregnancy chat so no one should feel left out or anything like that- just thought this would help with the huge amount of posts in one thread, which can be overwhelming.

Thanks Noel, our is also a flat, simple pad so I will see what we can come up with...I hadn't thought of a pillowcase type of cover...good idea!

Lora - It depends on the changing pad you have. I had found a smallish flat one, so I just made a pillocase with a fold-over end the right size for it. With my DD I had a contour changing pad, so I used a pattern that had the ends shaped like the contour pad, though I don't think that is absolutely necessary, with elastic around the bottom. I think for such a simple thing just winging it, going by the measurements of your pad & adding enough extra for seams & a little bit more for give, so it won't be super tight, should be fine.

Lora - Does the soaker diaper cover keep moisture in? I have heard that wool diaper covers do, so you don't need a waterproof layer. I have a hard time believing that it works, though. I picked up a couple

Lora - I love the baby things you made! They're so cute!

Ella - I can't believe you're getting so close to your due date! Wow!

Then Io realize how close I'm getting myself, just being on this thread! LOL!

Wow, Lora, those are beautiful! I love the cross stitch pattern. I would love to have something like that for my baby but all the cross stitch patterns I find in stores here are blah... or just too... I don't know, ugly?! That one is adorable! That blanket is beautiful, too. Nice work!

I'm working on knitting a hat that baby girl will wear home from the hospital - I've knitted like 6 so far, but I keep giving them away, so I have to make one for my own kid now - and be sure not to give this one away!

I'm impressed with the diaper covers you made... did you use a pattern?

I'm feeling great, really. No complaints. Still sleeping well (only getting up once in the middle of the night to pee), and generally feeling comfortable all around. I'm still pretty active, which I think has helped a lot. School is just stressing me out mentally and there's a lot for me to do before November, but other than that, I think we're almost ready for her to make her arrival. The nursery is nearly complete, just waiting on the changing pad and some sort of side table to put next to my glider. How about you? I saw your bedding set and your crib - I love the colors in the bedding, so pretty! We should have a nursery pics thread... I think I'm almost ready to post pics... what about you? I'm always so interested in looking at nursery pics! I think Elyse is almost done with hers, too...

Hope your Monday is going well!

ps - I can't believe you only have 60 days left to go!

Hi ladies! Do you ever feel like the baby is using all of your energy to do acrobatics? I feel like that's what Sweetpea is up to today! It's not too bad & I did feel better after an hour of napping. He sure has been a busy boy today, though!

It seems that I'm nesting a bit, at least as far as feeling compelled to go into the basement & search through piles of stuff & get it more organized & as far as sewing baby stuff instead of the other stuff I should be sewing. I'm glad I did the basement thing, though. I found 3 smaller stashes of baby stuff that I hadn't sorted in with all of the other stuff. I now definitely have more 0-3mth clothes than I need! LOL!

Lora - what craft projects are you working on for Lily? Share pics if you can! I'm busy knitting hats, hoping one will actually fit (the baby ;-). I've had a tiny bit of heartburn lately, and I've found that milk does help, as Noel suggested. I hope your heat wave ends soon - that really is tough when you have a little furnace attached to your abdomen! It has finally cooled off here and I have been sleeping much better - I agree, it is so difficult to get a good night's sleep when it is so hot.
