I'm glad to hear this Ash. Personally I agree - for obvious reasons I didn't say this earlier but twins are one of my biggest fears/nightmare scenarios. I know lots of people want twins, but I'd be scared sh*tless, so I totally understand. But hooray for one perfect bean!
Oh and we should totally make a DH-convincing- pact ;) I'm also still hoping to persuade DH that really he wants a third... We'll have to exchange tips and tactics in a few years!

Ashley I'm sorry about the empty sack but I'm so thrilled for you that the baby is growing and doing amazing in there :)

I agree with what Anna said. If you want to go for three after this one is here, I bet you'll be able to convince DH. Honestly, now that I have two, I really go back and forth about wanting a third or not, and I NEVER thought I would be the type to feel that way. So... you never know, you might end up pretty happy with your two kiddos. Either way, I'm glad you've come to terms with the whole situation. Best of luck with your pregnancy!!

Grace and Anna: I so agree with both of you. First off I never wanted twins and it was actually a running joke between my group of mom friends about how difficult it must be. I mean little things like doing a baby massage course- well you can't do that unless you have a babysitter do it with you, or sleep- if they don't fall into a routine you are pretty much guaranteed a very rough first year, and the list goes on. Of course twin parents make it work and I am sure they are also rewarded for their efforts but still- if we do have a third I know I would prefer it if it happened when the 2 others can walk and talk.

Plus like you say Grace who knows if I will actually want a third. I think right now sometimes it is just hard because DH is against it for pretty silly reasons (he thinks families with 3+ often seem chaotic , don't seem to be able to do fun things anymore,etc- and the best part is he comes from a family of 3 where that absolutely wasn't the case, but he says they don't count because one sibling is quite a bit older then the other 2). So I guess it would have been nice to just skip the conversations which will definitely come if I do decide I want a third.

However when it gets down to it I think I just liked the idea of twins and not at all the reality. Plus it would have been such a surprise to everyone since they don't run in our family and I wasn't on any sort of fertility treatments- but obviously once again not great reasons to actually have twins LOL.

Jenny: Thanks!

Ash I'm glad you've gotten some closure on this and you seem happy with the outcome.

Ash: glad you were able to get in earlier (and happy early birthday to you!) and that the one baby is still doing well.

I am with you and Anna on probably going to have to convince DH on a third, but who knows, maybe he'll be more agreeable than I think (he's the oldest of 3) or we will change our minds, but I'm pretty certain I'll still want 3. I wouldn't mind twins but with my DH gone so much and our families not able to help us 24/7, it would be very hard on me. Whatever is meant to be, will be!

I'm so glad you're feeling good now! So happy Strong Baby is developing nicely.

I know what you mean about 'getting it over with' with twins. We'll be crossing that road when it comes to implanting our embryos. So tempting to just put in 2 or 3, but I know it's not smart (for me OR baby). We will likely adopt #2, but maybe you can convince Thomas for #3 - you sure do make cute babies. :P

Enjoy your birthday!!!

Yay for that healthy bean, Ash. And honestly I feel relief for you, too. I think you are right on all accounts. Of COURSE you would lovingly handle twins like a pro if that was your reality, but you shouldn't feel guilty over the relief you feel right now that it's not going to be your reality. You were meant to have one healthy sibling for Teddy right now :)

Ash...i am with Anna scared of them. And twins run in my family. My mom is one. I am thinking part of why dh is nervous about #2. I remember the first u/s w David he was saying let there be only one. But we will see when the time comes. Also me being older could cause them too I read. Anyway...glad you have made peace w it.
