Even though Target has a pain in the butt return policy, we registered there and it wasn't too bad. They have a little better policy for the registry, if it's on the registry and shows it was purchased you can return it. So if we got something we needed to return, but it wasn't on the registry we would add it and change that it was purchased and then return it. We learned how to work the system.

I would suggest doing babies r us too. And put the big stuff on both. Even though you don't think people will get it with both registries you will get a registry completion coupon towards the end to use to buy any un-purchased items. We used it for the other big stuff we needed and added other things we needed at the last minute in order to use it. Also if you start your registry in store they will give you a little gift of samples and books, etc. I love free stuff:) Also if you don't have a babies r us near you, some items are found at toys r us as well and the registry can be used there too.

I did mine on Amazon and it worked great. But, my friends/family are all used to shopping online, ymmv. I did actually have one person print out the Amazon registry and just go buy things at BRU, which worked out fine as well.
