This does sound pretty normal, but I would recommend calling your dr anyway. If nothing else, just so they can note it in your chart.

Molly, I had that with my pgcy with Teddy. It was actually more spotting than you have (not only when wiping but also on my underwear) and I went to see the Dr after 5 days of spotting and got an u/s which showed everything was alright.
As you've got an u/s scheduled for tomorrow anyway I would wait until then. I would mention that you have been spotting though. But I don't think there's any point calling now or having an earlier u/s - chances are everything is fine (and if there isn't, there's nothing they could do anyway).
Hope all goes well!

Molly - Not to scare you, but I did have light pink spotting in my first pregnancy that did end in a miscarriage. However, the bleeding progressively got worse over a short(ish) period of time (between first seeing the pink spotting and miscarriage was about 24 hours), and I also had cramping. So, if you're not experiencing either of those, I'm sure it's fine.

I would just try to wait it out until tomorrow, but if you are concerned, or you do get heavier spotting and/or cramping, definitely call your doctor if you want.

Hang in there! The 1T can be so scary sometimes, but I'm sure everything is okay!

Hey Molly,

I had spotting at 5.5 weeks with my first pregnancy. It turned out to be a subchorionic hematoma. I had spotting for a few days then and they did an u/s (when we found out we were pregnant w/ multiples). I continued to have a SCHs in random places in my uterus for the whole pregnancy but I ended up with healthy twins. I've heard of people having SCH throughout their pregnancy and spotting or bleeding the whole time but I only spotted for those few days at 5.5 weeks. The rest was contained in my uterus.

If you weren't going in tomorrow, I would have told you to go in today or tomorrow. But since your appt is tomorrow, I would just say get there a few minutes early so that you have a little longer with the doc and bring that up as a concern right away.

Good luck!

With Ray I didn't have any spotting. With this pregnancy I did. Very early on... actually probably about where you are at now. They might be able to pinpoint the cause of the spotting on your US tomorrow. If the spotting was accompanied by cramps or got heavier I would call the DR. Or if you're really nervous. Maybe they can move your US from tomorrow to today.

Hang in there.

Molly, I also had some brown and pink spotting when I was 6 or 7 weeks... To make matters worse, I was on my honeymoon, so the scare totally ruined it for us...
Anyways, it turned out to be a subchorionic hematoma, that went away on it's own. Try not to worry, but tell the Dr. so you can find out for sure.

I had spotting when wiping (usually just once or twice a day) for an entire week around week 6. The doctor put me on bedrest since I had a history of miscarriage.

However, I think brown spotting means "old blood", so I wouldn't worry too much--especially since you have an u/s tomorrow. Definitely take it easy if it will put your mind at ease though!

Here's a post I made while I was spotting that might help to set your mind at ease:

My sister had spotting throughout her first pregnancy-and had a healthy baby. I think that you should worry only if it turns red or you start cramping and it gets heavier. Still, call your doctor if you are really worried-it's always better to be safe then sorry-and who knows, they might move your u/s up to today:)

So what did you decide? Are you going to try to get in today or wait til tomorrow? How is the spotting today?
