So ladies, I already posted about how I tested on the 29th with a cheapie test and got a very very faint positive. I tested the next day and got a somewhat darker line - definitely there but still on the faint side. I didn't test yesterday but I just tested this morning and although I got a positive, the line wasn't any darker than 2 days ago. All the tests I've done so far have been from the 99p store. I'm upset though - does this mean that my hormone levels aren't rising and that this pregnancy is not viable? Does anyone have any advice? I'm freaking out.

I've always heard that a line is a line, doesn't matter how dark it is. With my early loss, I got definite positives for 3 days, then it went completely negative (couldn't see second line at all) and I started bleeding about 4 days later. If you're worried, you should get your hcg tested at your OB on Monday and Weds this week. I will send some sticky baby vibes for you!

Something similar happened to me with this pregnancy-I used 2 different tests-the $store ones and FRER.

The amount of dye varies within each test and you are not really supposed to use the darkness of the line as a guide.

I agree with Emmy. It doesn't mean something is wrong. The level of dye varies from test to test. You could test on a whole box and each one would be different with the same pee sample. Don't let it worry you!

Thanks, ladies. I'm feeling much more relaxed now. Emmy and Katie I never considered the dye issue but it makes total sense. Just for an experiment (and because I'm a POAS addict!) I took two different tests this morning. I got a darker line than yesterday on both of them but one test was significantly darker than the other. I'm feeling much better now so thanks for all the kind words!
