Okay Guys,

So as most of you know, I am in limbo-land, STILL without a positive test since the original one at 6 DPO (which I look at daily because it, at least, is definitely positive--I might even see if it will come out in a pic so I can prove to all of you that I'm not crazy).

Anyway, AF is due on Monday, and I've just been spending my days on i-village, trying to pass the time until I FINALLY get a positive test or she is FINALLY late (or, ideally, both!).

This weekend, DH will be working Sat and Sun, so I was sort of like damn, two more days of waiting around.

BUT, last night one of our friends invited me to take a trip with him this weekend to Canada. (He had asked a few other people, but no one else can go).

His plan is to go to bed early, sleep for a couple hours, and then leave around midnight, drive over night and so arrive in Quebec City for sunrise. I guess this weekend there is like an ice-sculpture festival type thing. My friend is a photographer so he wants to take pics of the sculptures. He already has a hotel booked with two double beds and everything. On our way home, he wants to stop in Montreal and go to the Art Museum there. I think we'd be getting back on Monday.

So, on the one hand, it sounds really fun (albeit a bit cold, LOL), and I feel like it would be a really nice distraction from FREAKING out (like I temp in the morning and my heart starts pounding at the thought of a low temp--maybe that's why it is even that high! LOL). It sure sounds nice to go into a frozen world and come out three days later with (ideally) no hint of AF and surely, by then, a positive pregnancy test.

Also (this is sort of stupid but oh well), this would be my first major trip since I got my GPS, and it would be fun to go to different vegan restaurants or hit spots along the way without any worry of getting lost or whatever. My Dad has been grooming my navigator skills since I could read a map so navigating Canada with a GPS holds some weird excitement for me, LOL.

On the other hand, this friend is sort of an intense person. I worry about getting annoyed with him (especially since I've felt like I've had a MONSTER case of PMSy/PGcy crankiness for the last week), and I worry about getting tired and being ready to eat/sleep/relax while he still wants to go go go. In general I have always felt like it is slightly annoying/stressful to travel with anyone other than DH.

So those are the pros and cons, I have until midnight (LOL) to decide. If you were in my position, would you go on the trip, or stay home?

First - That's so weird about the HPTs. Are you still seeing faint lines, or are there no lines at all now? Have you tried a digital yet?

Now, to your question! I have a hard time traveling with other people, especially if I know in advance that they're going to annoy me. So, I wouldn't go. Even though it sounds like it'd be fun trip, it would suck to do it and feel annoyed/uncomfortable the whole time. If it ends up like that, then you'll just be wishing you stayed home.

That's just me though - I can barely stand traveling with other people, let alone when I'm freaking out about something! LOL

Is there some sort of project you could work on this weekend to pass the time? Or maybe you can do a day trip somewhere on your own to a nearby town or something?

Adrienne,

It's hard for me to put myself exactly in your shoes, but I think I would probably go on the trip.

(Although, I have to admit, part of the reason I say this is that I live within about eight hours of Quebec City, it's supposed to be really beautiful, and I feel bad that I still haven't been there. And if you're going to go to Quebec City, Winter Carnival is probably one of the best times to go.)

More importantly, it will be a distraction for you. As far as your friend goes, do you think he'd be willing to head out on your own sometimes, or just with James, if you wanted to just chill out in the hotel room occassionally? That would help you keep the weekend on your pace.

I'm so sorry you're still in limbo land. I am sending you so many positive thoughts stick, baby, stick vibes, and back off-AF vibes!

Well, James isn't going. If he was, I would be all about it! But yes, my friend would be willing to go out on his own and leave me in the hotel room, so I've definitely considered that possibility.

"I sure wouldn't pass up the chance for a (did you imply free?) visit"

LOL--well, I would probably chip in on the hotel room, just because I would feel bad if I didn't. But then again, this same friend came camping with us this summer and didn't chip in on the site fee, so maybe I shouldn't offer! Heheh.

And you might have convinced me with your enthusiasm and links!! I bet it would be really fun.

Adrienne -I say GO!! I think it would be fun!!! You can always go off on your own or stay in the hotel room to get away if you need to...

I think it would get your mind of things. Have fun!! I hope you get a positive test soon....

Okay, I'm convinced!!! LOL!

I am just going to prepare well with plenty of snacks, pillows, warm clothes, etc. I bet it will be really fun and probably good for me to stop obsessing for a few days.
