Cribs, Baby Furniture, Etc...

Have you given any thought to baby furniture while TTC? If so, what are your plans?

I hadn't thought of it till yesterday when I was talking to a co-worker. When his wife was PG (all of my co-workers are guys) he came to me looking for an inexpensive crib. As it had happened my BFF asked me if I knew anyone looking for one, a friend of hers was selling. My co-worker ended up buying it from the friend of my BFF. He raved about what a great deal it was, etc. (He DS is almost a year now.) Well yesterday he told me I could have it from them, no charge, when we needed it. (Him and his wife are debating moving back to Vietnam.) So sweet of him.

When I had DS I had gotten a crib and changing table from another co-worker. His 3 DDs had used it before DS. I did buy a new mattress then. The bassinett that we used when DS was small XH had gotten from one of his co-workers (I see a theme here.)

Now all of the baby stuff I had when I had DS is gone. During my single-mom years I really didn't see myself having anymore kids anytime soon and got rid of it all. Now granted it's been almost 7 years so it's probably a good idea to get new stuff.

OK.... I'm rambling... how about you?

I've actually been thinking about that a bit too. Roree uses her crib converted to a toddler bed, so we'd have to buy her a new bed so we could use the crib again. We used an old dresser of mine as her changing table, we just added some railings to the top so the pad would stay on, so we'll either have to buy her a new dresser or buy a changing table for the new baby. We have a gliding rocking chair from Roree that I used a lot for nursing and when she was fussy, so that would go into the new baby's nursey. The things I've been thinking most about are bedding and decor though, because I think I'd like baby #2 to have their own even if it is another girl who can use Roree's old bedding. I'd also like to come up with a better closet system for baby #2 because we had no place to put diapers, wipes, and store clothes that were still too big at our old house.

If we have a little boy next we'll need a new bouncer, pack 'n play, floor gym, and exersaucer

We got a dresser from our neighbors yard sale for 20 bucks, and we'll be getting some kind of a co-sleeper like this:

We have a lot of random dressers for some reason so we won't be getting anything brand new. Which is totally fine.
