Hey ladies - thought I'd start a new thread for February (mostly because I didn't know how to describe how to put my ticker in! LOL!).
So, check in time:

Name/SO Name: Alyssa/Kyle
TTC (adoption) cycle (month): cycle 1 after m/c, 3 overall.
Where are you in your cycle: 7 DPO - just waiting to test.
Doing anything new this cycle: Just waiting this one out. Doubt we'll do anything different next cycle if we don't get a BFP.
What do you have going on this month: Superbowl this weekend, and DH's birthday is this month. Valentine's too, but I doubt we'll do much for that.
What's your favorite book: There are so many to choose from! My recent favorite was Sarah's Key.
Name/SO Name: Kate & DH
TTC (adoption) cycle (month): NPP since August... I've lost track
Where are you in your cycle: CD20; my chart looks terrible this month but I feel hopeful
Doing anything new this cycle: Not really.

What's your favorite book: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
Name/SO Name: Erica/Cory
TTC (adoption) cycle (month): going on three months since we decided to adopt, NTNP since June 2011!
Where are you in your cycle:
Doing anything new this cycle: As I mentioned on the January thread, I'm torn about having a 4th biological child. We will continue NTNP, but I have to confess that I'm paying a lot more attention to CM lately...hoping...
What do you have going on this month: February is gorgeous in Florida. I'm going to try to get outside more this month. I'm looking forward to getting into a new exercise routine, and we are going to dig into some house projects.
What's your favorite book: I think Little Women is number one. I also love the Mitford series. I think I am going to start them over again.
Cory and I have had some great talks about our family recently. He is fine with following my lead on the issue of the size of our family. He is ready to love and support any child that comes along through adoption or birth. I feel so, so blessed to have him as my husband! I still have a strong desire to adopt, but we both agree that we need to see if we are going to be in Florida for the long term. Cory still has a job application in process at a PA university, and he is thinking of applying for another one. We wouldn't want to pay for a Florida homestudy, and then have to move. As much as I was conflicted about the job that came up last summer, I'm feeling a stronger desire to be closer to home since my parents are now caring for my grandma in their home.
All in all, I guess I'm just trying to be open and ready for anything, yet I know too much about Natural Family Planning to not pay attention to my body. Without even meaning to, I find myself getting into my TTC mode. I'm eating better, trying to get fit, taking my vitamins, and organizing. Basically, I'm already nesting!!!! It's craziness. :)
Hi, Alyssa. Sorry for messing up your ticker! Thanks for starting the thread. You sound like you are in a good mental place for TTC. I'm excited for you, and I hope you have a quick time TTC and a peaceful pregnancy.
Good luck, Kate! I know that your husband's health was a factor in TTC. Is he feeling better these days?
Hi to anyone else who might be visiting the thread! Hop right in. :)
Kate - glad you're feeling positive about this cycle! My fingers are crossed for you.
Erica - that's so great about the recent conversations you've had with DH. It's so wonderful that you're both on the same page. I can understand how easy it would be to slip into TTC mode if you're charting and are very in tune with your body. Sounds like, no matter what happens when, you'll be ready and excited. What a great time for you!
AFM - I tested today, but got a BFN, as to be expected. I'm not going to test this early again, especially with the tests I have. They don't seem to be as sensitive as the ones I had before. Last time I was PG, I used both tests at the same time, and the lines were much lighter on my new set of tests. So, I think I'll wait until 12 DPO or longer to test from now on. Not sure how I feel about this cycle in terms of being PG - I feel like I know better than to interpret the signs and temps, but it's hard not to get into that headspace, specially as I get closer to when AF is expected.
Alyssa: Sorry about the BFN. I tested yesterday as well, and got a BFN too. I am pretty sure it's too early.
Erica: When will you guys know for sure about the job Cory's applied to? I've been thinking more and more about wanting to do foster parenting lately. I really need to talk to DH about it more.
AFM: Terrible cramping today, and I am suprisingly feeling very randy right now. DH is still sick though.
Sorry about the BFNs, ladies. I hope you both get good news soon.
Kate, the university hiring process is really frustrating and kind of mysterious. DH thinks it is probably not going to be a YES since he expected to hear around the new year, but in truth, he could actually hear as late as July or even August. He applied for his current job in November or December. He got a call in March, phone interview in April, and campus interview in May. He was offered the job at the end of May 2011. Last summer, he was interviewed for a job in June, and the job was offered to someone else in July. In other words, it could be awhile. I'm excited that you are thinking about foster care. I know I was inspired by what you said about your parents taking in kids. Right now, I'm thinking about ways that I can support orphans and kids in foster care since we can't adopt right this minute.
