Of course you do!! My first was concieved 4.5 days before ovulation. This pregnancy happened DTD two days before ovulation... I think that says it all, right?

Sperm can survive a few days from what I remember. And I know you can dtd up to a few days before and get pregnant. They say if you want a girl to dtd before ovulation. I know it is a theory and it may or may not work but I know you can get pg from a day before. I have learned a lot about this now that I am doing natural family planning like when you are fertile based on cervical mucus signs alone.

Jules, during the cycle that Charlotte was conceived, we DTD the day before O, and I was really disappointed that we didn't have a chance on the actual O day. We DTD anyway on the following day since I'm pretty sure I O'd late in the day. It worked! I think you've got a good chance.

If you believe in the Shettle's method of choosing gender, you've increased your chance of a girl by DTD before O. We weren't trying for a girl, and I'm not sure how much stock I put in the method, but it's an interesting tidbit!

I hear ya on this one. DH and I want another and then over the weekend he tells me about how he's afraid Teddy was a lucky shot and we won't be as lucky the 2n time around. He got some blood work results back and he has a few conditions that could need to low sperm count, so he's wigging out... not that he wants to TTC now, but he's afraid when we're ready (later this year is the plan right now) his little guys won't be up for the task... (((hugs)))

I hate it, because his paranoia rubs off on me.
