OK I have a testing question

My cycles in the last year have averaged 33 days. The last 2 months I've had 34-day cycles (prior to that I had a 29 day and a 35 day).

I don't chart temps or CM. Just going by the 33 day average, I am GUESSING that puts me at Oing at CD 16 or 17. Sadly, we only DTD on CD15 so I'm not holding out huge hope... BUT if I am going to break down and test, what CD would you start testing on? Today is CD22.

Usually you can start at 10DPO, so CD25 for you. However, the later the better. There have been many women here that have gotten a BFN on 10DPO only to get a BFP later on :)

Good luck!

I got a BFN this time around at 11 DPO and a BFP at 13 DPO. With my other two I never tested until my period was due. It's hard to say for sure since you aren't charting or anything, but I think most women have an average luteal phase (from O to AF) of about 13 to 14 days so it could be that you ovulate as late as CD 19. That would make a difference on how early you'd be able to get a positive for sure. Just something to keep in mind.

Last cycle I tested around dpo10 and then again on dpo13 and15. Like the other girls said the BFN can get you a little down. So if I were you I would wait until at least dpo14.

Good luck

Welcome to TTC! :-)

I had to go pull up my fertilityfriend.com account to see when I tested. Like the others have said, I waited as long as possible to test because on a previous cycle, I got really bummed with a BFN.

The cycle I got PG, I O'd on CD19 and tested only once and got a BFP on CD31 (the day AF was due, I believe) so I was 12 DPO. Every woman is different - some get a BFP early and some don't until many days after ovulation.

IMO, it depends on what kind of a person you are.

Hmmm.... I don't know if I like to test or not. DD was unplanned. I was on CD 43 when I finally tested. But that's because I SWORE AF was coming ANY DAY. Obviously, she wasn't. ;)

I do think I'd be disappointed if I got BFNs... so I'm going to hold out until AF is due on the 19th. Actually, I'll wait until the 20th and test then. It's going to be a LONG 10 days, but I'll stick it out. I'd love to hold out until the 27th (our anniversary) although I'm pretty sure by then I'd "know" already... but I don't think I have the strength to last 17 more days!!
