PG After M/C Stories?

Ladies - I need your help. We just went through our first cycle TTC after the m/c in December, and not getting a BFP was a LOT harder than I thought.

I know many of you have gone on to get a sticky bean after going through a m/c. I'd love to hear your stories (or stories of other people you know), to help me (and others) think more positive about trying again after a tragic event.

Then, when anyone needs to read some uplifting TTC stories, they'll all be right here!

TIA!

One of my friends had 2 MCs while trying for their 2nd. After the 2nd MC they were told to "wait" 3 months before TTC again. They ended up getting PG that cycle. My friend was so worried that it would in in a MC because she didn't wait. Her DD is now going on 3.

I have several stories Alyssa.
Both my grandmother and my aunt suffered miscarriages with their first pregnacy and went on to have many healthy babies. Grandma had 5 children and my aunt had 4, including a set of twins! I have no idea how look it took them to concieve after the m/c, but eventually they did!
Then I have one of my closest friends, who was TTC for over a year, got pregnant and m/c at week 8... She was devastated, it took them 6 more cycles but eventually they got their sticky bean! She's now 32 weeks pregnant and very happy.

I'm sure Grace and Ella will post their stories later...

I can tell you about my cousin. She is 35 now and had her little boy after at least 3 m/cs over several years (that's the ones I know of). Now she is pregnant with her second child, a little girl - but they started trying pretty much as soon as their first baby was born; so it took them 2 1/2 years this time. I know she must have had m/cs this time around too as she was very cautious in announcing her pregnancy; and earlier last year she sounded very defeatist and like they'd almost given up trying.

I know this is not a super positive story as she suffered a lot, and it took her and her DH a very long time, both times. But still, in summer this year she will have two children! So I hope this is the silver lining that you need.

(((HUGS))) to you, Alyssa.

I have a friend who had two m/c's before having her first child. And I know it took her several cycles to get pregnant after the second m/c but I'm not sure how many (she was pg about 6 months later but I'm not sure she was trying for most of that). Her son is now four years old, and her second baby boy was born yesterday!!!!! She got pregnant on her first month trying the second time around, (and she'll be 35 in just over a month so she's at an age where you might expect it to take longer).

I am super excited about the new baby, and also was super happy that she had a much easier time getting and staying pregnant this time around.

Hi Alyssa! I know that first cycle after my miscarriage when we did not get a BFP was the hardest for me. I got really scared that my body was messed up and I would never carry a healthy pregnancy even though my doctor let me know that everything was working good. It took us six months to get pregnant again and every month was difficult for me when my period came. It got hard on my hubby and it was that last cycle that we got very scientific and planned it very carefully. I also took extra folic on top of my pre-natal vitamins and went into my doctor to get some blood tests done to just make sure that all my hormones were on track. The blood tests came back normal which gave me a new confidence and determination. We got our BFP on that cycle and it was the exact month our baby would have been due. Geoff and I believe that God gave us our miracle on that month. When we saw the ultrasound picture Geoff told me he really believes that our baby got a second chance to come down and be with us again and I believe it too. We found out we had a low progesterone problem after my doctor tested for that and put us on progesterone injections for the first 14 weeks which I know saved our baby girl's life. We are now off the injections and she is a healthy little girl that is very active and loves to kick! My placenta took over and is now doing the job which I am so very grateful.

I think our struggle to get to where we are has made us appreciate our daughter so much more and God's special gift He gave to us. People kept telling me it would happen and I would not believe them until it actually did happen. We did not relax once and on our BFP cycle we had it down to a science. I hated when people told me to just relax and let it happen but after a loss we wanted our baby even more and never let up. We never gave up on our dream and we knew someday we would get our baby. Our loss made our marriage even stronger and we knew we could survive anything together. Every day is a miracle to me and my husband and we appreciate our growing daughter so very much.

Thank you all for sharing these stories - it has helped me a great deal (and hope it helps others as well). It's sooooo nice to hear warm, fuzzy stories instead of scary, tragic ones!
