Yay Lisa- so glad to see you "hardcore trying"
Andi - hehe. Every time I hear that song I can't help but bopping around. Since I finally found who sings it I've been listening to it at least once a day. Before that I was trying to find it by googling it - try finding a song when you only know the words "I love you" are in it! :)
And the heat is MISERY! Ah!!! We went to a Giants game last night (more on that later...)
Lisa and Dee: Sorry about AF :( I was hoping this was it for you girls!
Lisa: Glad to know that you'll be TRYING this month! I'm excited to stalk your chart again! I also wanted to mention that the cycle that worked for me I was using a fertility prep tonic from Whole Foods called Wish Garden Fertility Prep. I wasn't religious about it, but I did use it 2-3 times daily until I O'ed. Apparently, it helped!! Baby Dust!!
Lisa: Sounds like a good game plan.
Ash - thanks for the welcome!
Erin - thanks for easing my mind a bit! I guess it just feels funny because I've spent my whole life to this point tying to *prevent* this very thing! Thanks for putting me on the front page too - somehow that makes it more official! And that's awful about the pregnancy test photo :S I'm glad your friend totally understood, but still tough to to deal with on the spot.
(ETA:)Jen - thanks for your welcome, and for sharing your experience with being a first time TTCer this cycle! I'm sorry that your having such pain, but I'm glad to hear that it's not a UTI. Keep us posted.
I have a couple questions for you ladies (and will probably have a lot more!):
- We were checking out pregnancy tests today at the store - holy cow they're expensive! I've heard a number of people mention internet cheapies. Can anyone give me links to places you can buy these - especially if you're from Canada (or know the place ships to Canada)?
- Did you stop drinking when you started TTCing? I don't drink much - maybe a glass of wine with dinner a couple times a week. But, I've heard it's one of these things where you're better to be safe (as with EVERYTHING it seems - I think there are a lot of things many people just choose to do in moderation or we wouldn't be allowed to do anything!)
- What is your plan of attack with TTCing? This cycle we're just going to GOFO (love that WAY more than BD! LOL) once a day while I have EWCM, but perhaps there's a better way to go about it? I was hoping we'd start a couple days earlier, but my EWCM just kind of came in loads today without a lot of warning (it was dry yesterday).
Any advice would be appreciated! TIA!
Thanks to Katie for my wonderful siggie!
So regarding your questions I thought I would chime in.
1. I used http://www.saveontests.com/
Thanks for your responses, Ash! I will definitely check into that website, because I just don't want to pay $10 or more per PG test unless we're doing a follow-up one :) Plus, with the cheapies, I can test more often.
ITA with you on having to give up so much - I don't want to do it ahead of time :P I don't drink excessively anyway, so as long as I keep doing that I'll feel okay.
Great tips on the TTC timing as well. This cycle kind of snuck up on me because we were traveling during the first part of it. Plus, I usually get increasingly wet CM (dry to sticky to creamy to watery to EW), and usually have at least a couple days of EW before Oing, but this time it was a bit strange. Anyway, we GOFO last night, and will again today. If we're not PG this cycle, then we'll try more next time!
I think my body is gearing up for O, so DH and I GOFO'd this morning and will probably GOFO the next week EOD. We also GOFO'd a few nights ago so I think we'll have our bases covered.
The house is coming along. DH and a friend started the laminate install yesterday and its about 75% done...its sooo nice!! A friend of mine came by yesterday and we unpacked my kitchen! Such a huge help from her and she made us dinner too. Slowly but surely, its returning to normal around here.
I plan to stripe my bathroom this week hopefully...it'll be a big project but I think it will be awesome when its done.
Sorry for no personals....I'm just swamped with house stuff. Hopefully by the end of the week I'll be on here regularly again.
Thanks Katie for my siggy!
Half to Whole
Hi Alyssa: I actually have a different take on things.
