Name: Kate

TTC child #: 3

How many cycles trying? This is the 4th.

Where are you in your cycle? CD31

What are you waiting for (O, AF, BFP, etc)? I don't know!!

Questions for the rest of us? Has anyone ever lactated when they weren't BFing?? I'm leaking a little today and worried about high levels of prolactin making me not ovulate :(

Anything else you'd like to add? I'm doing better. Thanks for asking, Sara! Still cramping a bit but not enough to take meds for.

Yay for a new thread!! July is going to be lucky, I can feel it! ;) Trying to be positive here...

Name:
TTC child #: 2
How many cycles trying? I'm on cycle 3
Where are you in your cycle? CD9
What are you waiting for (O, AF, BFP, etc)? Waiting to O
Questions for the rest of us? Does anyone know if using progesterone cream would impact my temps? I know that progesterone is what causes your temp to rise after O so if I use progesterone cream would that unnaturally cause a rise in my temps and then make my chart worthless?
Anything else you'd like to add? 3 data points on my first chart - yay!! I'm also hoping that the Vitex helps this month and gives me a shorter cycle but a longer LP.

PS. If you'd like to add your FF chart, please post the link and I'll edit this first message to include you:

PS - Kate, no I've never had lactation after breastfeeding. When did you wean the twins (no pun intended...)? ;)

Yes, progesterone will give you falsely high temps. It may also delay AF until you stop using it. I think people can still get the implantation dip on progesterone though, so I would keep up with the temping.

I weaned them at 9 months old, so about 14 months ago. I don't really think it's worrisome. I'm just wondering.

PS. I got a -OPK this afternoon and I mean NEGATIVE. No second line to speak of.

Thanks for the info on the progesterone, that's what I thought would happen but I wasn't sure. I think I might not use it this month since its my first month charting, I want to see what my real LP is and see if the Vitex is working at all. Then next month I can use the cream...I did get pregnant before with a 10-11 day LP so at least I know it is possible!

I'm glad you're feeling better today. Maybe the -OPK is a good sign actually that your hormones are leveling off. It'll be interesting to see if you ovulate first (assuming you haven't yet...)

Lisa-I just checked my charts since taking Vitex (6 cycles total) and my LP went up from 7 days to 10 to 16 in 4 months--and that is with BFing on demand (I didn't even nightwean Evan until he turned 1 in May, so I was Bfing 6-8X per day-ironically, that month my LP went down to 12 days), so I'm sure it will take much less time for you to have a longer LP! How much are you taking each day? I'm taking 800 mg per day (the suggestion on the bottle).

Oh good!!! I'm glad it has worked for you, that gives me hope! Last month I didn't O until CD 32-33 (really late even for me, normally around CD19-23) and then I got AF on CD 42. I'm also taking 800mg a day. What did it do for the rest of your cycle? Longer, shorter, earlier/later O?

Thanks Jessica! Congratulations to you too-It won't be long until your little girl arrives!

Lisa- My O also got earlier with each cycle since the Vitex-I started out Oing at CD 24 I think, and it's been at least 2 days earlier each cycle-it actually jumped 6 days earlier once cycle, and now I'm Oing around CD 14 or 15. Last month, my cycle was 32 days with a 16 day LP--My first cycle was 30 days with a 6 day LP

I don't know if anyone is interested or not but I was researching lunar fertility-it's supposedly based on a scientific study but it seems a little horoscopy- either way, I plugged in my info a few months ago and it's been pretty accurate with predicting when I O-Here's the link: http://www.astro.com/cgi/genchart.cgi?&lang=&gm=a2 -You have to select "lunar fertility chart" on the dropdown menu-it's one of the last ones
