Of those two dresses, I would definitely go with the maternity one. It's still really cute, and your wouldn't have to worry. I feel like the non-maternity one is a little too form fitting for a second baby bump. Good luck!

Lora, both dresses are gorgeous!! However, 6453 is one of those dresses that although "empire waist" is truly form fitting (I think it's actually an A-line, except for the sash) So I think it wouldn't work past 16 weeks. But as I said, bot dresses are beautiful, I think you would look gorgeous in 7015, and you could definitely relax about the size.

So here's my take...I have 5 weddings next year. Every month from June to October. I am in 4 of them! I will hopefully be anywhere from 5 months to within days of EDD. That is 4 separate dresses to get that I will very likely wear once and then sell. I will be ordering the dresses as close to the wedding as I can probably 2 sizes larger than I normally wear and then having them altered within a week or two of the wedding. Most dress makers sell dresses in extra long I would suggest getting th extra long unless you are shorter to begin with and when it is altered a good seamstress/tailor will be able to adjust the hem to make it fit over a belly without pulling up on the bottom of the dress.

What a good idea to bring a cushion to see what it would be like...too bad I won't know for sure how far along I'll be unless I get a BFP early next week...fingers crossed ;)

Lora, I just went through a similar situation at my cousin's wedding (not BM, but it was a big event and I needed to dress well). The whole story is at the pregnancy photo thread if you are interested. My advice is that the empire waist dresses usually work well, as long as they have enough fabric below the bust line. Check that out, because some dresses are "empire waist" but still kind of form fitting. Also keep in mind that with a second pregnancy you get a lot bigger, a lot faster. Personally I look like 6 weeks bigger than I really am. So by 6.5 months you could be looking like you did at 7.5 or even 8 months last time. Try bringing a cushion similar in size to your 7 month belly so you can try the dress with it. HTH!!! (oh, and good luck! I hope you did catch the egg!!)

The empire waist gowns do work well. That's what I had my bridesmaids wear, my sister had just had a baby so it worked well with a postpartum tummy too.

Has her fiance given you any ideas on the type of style she wants you all to wear?

An empire waist should look fine even at 6.5 months pregnant. My sister was 5 months pregnant at my brothers wedding and the empire waist bridesmaids dress worked really well for her, I was only 7 weeks pregnant so you couldn't really tell for me. I would suggest getting it 2 sizes too big though, since you can alter it so it is smaller if needed, but altering it so that it ends up bigger is harder because most dresses don't have much excess material.

Thank you for the sig Mary
