Andrea - I have no idea if doctors will do "elective" IUIs for your convenience. I'd imagine most would recommend trying naturally for several months, at least to start with anyway. Plus, you never know. The stars could align for you and you could get lucky right away. Best of luck to you!

Andrea--

How far away would he be traveling? Would it be possible for you to meet up at some point during the week if you needed to? I'm sure your students wouldn't mind if you canceled class at some point to travel with him, either! :)

Andrea, sperm can live for several days. So if you have no fertility problems, even less than ideal BDing can lead to a pregnancy in a few months. It may take a month or two longer than someone else, but in the grand scheme of things, one or two months is nothing. Depending on where you live, you may be able to find a dr that is willing to do an IUI now b/c I'm sure there are doctors who will do it for a paying customer. But IUI can be an emotionally challenging experience and not something to be done lightly.

Hi, just wanted to chime in. My husband travels for business as well and when we first started to TTC I was concerned we would miss "the O window." But in the first whole year, we never missed a cycle. It always seemed to fall over a weekend!

Of course, with the whole azoo situation we're in, it didn't matter. But that's part of the reason I *knew* something was wrong - we had always had fantastic timing!

Hope you have better luck!

Unfortunately, I don't have a positive experience with this.

If it helps at all for your peace of mind, this baby was concieved DTD 4.5 days before the O day (according to FF)... Oh! and it was our first try!!

I would try to relax as much as possible. Just make sure you have sex on monday so you have the week as covered as possible. It is totally possible to get pregnant that way!
