I know a bunch of people just checked into the May Chat, haha, oh well check in again, I added a few new questions!

Name/DH Name:

NPP/TTC/On Hold/Waiting to Adopt: What's your status?

If actively TTCing, what cycle number is this for you?

Where are you in your cycle right now?

If charting, would you like to share a link for your chart?

Are you trying anything different than you did last month?

Do you have children already or are you working on your first?

Let me preface this post by saying that I originally signed on to lament that this NTNP thing has not gone as easily as I thought it would.

If you are implanting now it would be too early for a glass of wine to effect baby, it's totally fine that you had a glass! Please don't beat yourself up over it! Speaking of implanting...I hope that's the spotting you're having! I didn't have spotting when I got pregnant with DS so I've got no advice, but I hope in a few days you get your BFP!! Good luck at the interview!

Mari!!! You can't leave us hanging! Test tonight!!!

Jay--

Take a deep breath!! A glass of wine a few days after ovulation isn't going to hurt anything! Think of how many women aren't trying or NPPing and get pregnant. Many of them drink way more than that are their babies are fine. :)

I didn't have any implantation bleeding, but theoretically, you could get a BFP three days or so after with a really sensitive test. It can happen at any point; some women even spot a little after AF was due. I think you're perfectly alright. Now, go to a dollar store and get some cheap tests and put your mind at ease! :)

Jay - Don't beat yourself up, we were NPP when Theodore was conceived on our honeymoon, and while I didn't drink at our wedding I certainly did on our honeymoon and I took a ton of meds for a spider bite I got. I did have implation bleeding with both. Wishing you all the best.

In the research I have done, they have never found an effect from drinking less than 8.5 glasses of wine/beer per WEEK. So, basically it's safe to have ONE drink DAILY when you are pregnant (not hard alcohol, wine or beer only). And in plenty of other countries people continue to have a glass of wine with dinner throughout their whole pregnancy. In France, where this is the case, the rates of fetal alcohol syndrome are LOWER than in the US. So, personally, if I wanted wine or beer when I was pregnant, I drank it. Never more than one at a time, and over the whole pregnancy it probably ended up being 10-12 glasses total, so 1-2 drinks per MONTH. Anyway, james is obviously very healthy, happy, and intelligent. He does have two toes that are half-webbed, but . . . . I think it's unrelated. ;-) (No but seriously.) I'll come back for personals later!

I tested, and it was negative... It's weird, I was so sure I was pregnant, I don't feel sad, but a little dissapointed. Oh well...

Jay I just have to chime in that I was drinking pretty often when Theo was conceived- honeymoon, Mexico, beautiful sunny days, and all that jazz and really you don't have to worry about one glass of wine.

One because one glass just isn't enough to affect anything ( I was drinking one glass of wine occasionally during the pregnancy) and 2 it is just too early for you to be passing anything over to the baby:)

I hope this is it!

Not pregnant here either. AF showed today, right on time. It is kind of nice having 26 days cycles. Less waiting. I do think I'm going to hold off until 9dpo to start testing this month. And DH is going to be out of town for CD13-17. I'm pissed. Don't know if I want to push on him getting out of it or what. Hopefully CD13 will be good enough.

But now this is the cycle I really wanted to get pregnant on, so I should get into that mode. Put away the coffee, take it a little easier during the 2ww and all of that.

In the meantime, we have a babysitter this Saturday and DH and I are going somewhere fancy for dinner and *drinking* ;-)
