Hi everyone - I know I haven't been around the board much lately, but I guess that's to be expected. DH and I are doing the best we can given the situation, and each day is getting a little easier. We are looking forward to Christmas vacation with our families.

I had blood work done yesterday, and my beta levels are coming down as they should be (it was 12000 last week, and 208 yesterday). I will get another blood test done in the new year, and hopefully my levels will be much lower.

During this process I found out that I have A-negative blood, which can pose a problem if I'm carrying a baby with any positive blood type. So, I was given a shot yesterday to help with this.

We will probably TTC again the cycle after this one, depending how we feel. Sometimes we don't want to try ever again, but that feeling is steadily going away and is replaced by wanting to bring our baby back to us.

Thank you to everyone for your wonderful comments and support over the last week, both on the board and on my blog. It really means a lot to both of us, especially the stories of those of you who have gone through this before.

Lots of (((hugs))) and baby dust to you all. Merry Christmas, and I hope 2010 brings your dreams to life!

Hi Alyssa, thanks for the update. I'm very sorry for your loss. It's good they found the blood type issue. I hope you get your sticky bean as soon as you're ready. *hugs*

Thanks for updating us, Alyssa. I totally understand what you're feeling right now, and it is all so normal. I'm glad you and DH are feeling ready to try again in the new year. It's good that the blood type issue out of the way so your next bean will be a super sticky one :) Enjoy Christmas vacation with your family and take plenty of time to relax!

Alyssa,

I didn't know you were going through this, I am so sorry! It is incredibly hard but I promise it gets easier. The first night after I knew there wasn't a real baby, I cried in my bed for hours. But every day it got a little easier.

Something my Chinese Medicine friend told me that made me feel so much better is that the Chinese tradition believes that in the case of a m/c, the same soul comes back to you until it can be born.

That put a smile on my face on a day I didn't think I would ever smile.

Anyway, so sorry to hear--we are here for you if you need anything. I hope the holidays are a welcome distraction. (((HUGS)))

Thanks again for all your kind words, ladies. We're doing much better these days, but we're still thinking about our Baby G.

Adrienne - it's interesting that you mention the Chinese belief that the soul of the baby comes back because that's exactly what we've been believing ourselves.

I had another blood test done this morning, so hopefully they'll tell me my beta levels are back to normal. I haven't been charting, so I'm not really sure where I am in my cycle, but I don't think I've O'd yet. I started taking my temp yesterday, and noticed there was a bit of EWCM, so hopefully it will happen soon so this cycle can be done with. We plan to start TTC again after this cycle. At that point I'll join the TTC thread again (weird feeling!), and hopefully get another BFP in the near future (and it be sticky!).
