This is such a sweet article.
I j ust sent the link to my mom with a "thank you" note... Just because she was that kind of mom...
I love this Erica, thank you for sharing! Ten simple but totally do-able things we can do every day! I also think this is an important reminder for moms especially in today's world where everyone is connected at the hip to one or more electronic devices.
For example, my mom and I took Selin to an indoor play area at a local mall a few months ago and my mom commented on how she was surprised that all of the moms (except me of course, lol) were glued to their Smartphones or tablet devices while their kids climbed on the equipment. At the time, I responded to her that it's probably because the moms are just trying to steal a little "me" time but after reading this article, I think it also has to do with the addiction of getting information NOW and the struggle to put down your devices and actually play, talk, and listen with your children.
Personally I have been trying to make an effort to not check emails/FB on my phone after I pickup Selin from daycare until after she is in bed. I only see her for about 4 hours/day during the week so I really want to spend that time with her and not being glued to my phone. I try to remind my husband to do the same and often joke that he is going to have a black thumb from being on his phone so much. Emails can wait, childhood and memories do not. :-)
