I was planning on taking my cat, Rosie
I'm so sorry Noel- it sounds like you all shared a lot of great memories with her and that she had a great life.
(((HUGS))) I am so sorry to hear about Rosie. You know I am a pet lover too (grew up with dogs and now have cats) so I know the pain of losing a pet. The way you all said goodbye to her was very fitting. Loved the slideshow - you can tell what am important part Rosie played to your family.
I hope you will be able to find comfort in your memories of Rosie. Know that she is looking down on you and your family from heaven. :-)
*Thanks Joelle for my awesome siggy!
I'm so sorry for your loss.
Noel--I am so sorry to hear this!
My Mom got our first cat, Calico, when she was 17, and she lived for 21 years, so my Mom was 38 when she died. It was heartbreaking, because as you said, Callie had seen my Mom through being a single person to meeting my Dad and having all four of her kids. But, like Rosie, Callie definitely had weeks where she was not moving a lot and mostly hiding before she passed . . . so I doubt a trip to the vet would have helped--it seems to me animals know when their time is close.
Your slideshow is beautiful--it is obvious she had a wonderful life.
Thanks Katie for my siggy!
Half to Whole
Noel, I am so sorry to hear this :( Having a pet leave us can be so incredibly hard, but it sounds like Rosie was loved by everyone in your family and had a long and wonderful life.
Sending lots of hugs your way.
Thanks to Katie for my wonderful siggie!
rosie was such a beautiful cat, noel...i'm so sorry for your loss. take comfort in the fact that she's not in pain any more, and you had 16 wonderful years with her, when she felt loved and protected. i know i would be devastated if i lost one of my furbabies...i've been pushing that thought out of my mind because they're so young (one is about 2 and the other two are 4), but the reality is that anything can happen.
she had a long full happy life with you, and now she's moved on to the rainbow bridge. ((((HUGS))))
((hugs)) I'm sorry Noel, I know it is really difficult to lose a pet, your family will be in my prayers. :-)
((HUGS)) I am so sorry to hear this Noel. I grew up in the country w/ lots of pets so I know what it is like to lose a pet that feels like a member of the family.
It looks like Rosie lived a really great life and I believe you and family did all the best you could for her. Like Adrienne said, I think cats know when it's their time. I lost my first cat, Tiger, when she was 15 (I was only 9). A few weeks before she died my mom would find her just sitting alone in a field with a very distant look on her face. Then we went on vacation and when we came back we didn't see her. My mom finally found her- she had curled up and buried herself in an armadillo hole, so I believe she definitely knew it was her time.
I'm glad you and your family could give Rosie a nice goodbye. I will be thinking of you during this time of loss.
Oh Noel, I'm so sorry.... Sadly, i've recently learned how hard it is to loose a pet, and I know how much Rosie means to you. I know she had a happy life with you, and touched the hearts of all your family. And
