((((HUGS)))) I have no advice for you as I haven't been there, but I will say that whatever love you have for her will shine through in those hours you are with her...

Also I grew up with a dad who worked 3 jobs all the time, he was only home 1 to maybe 2 days a week, and also my mom worked a TON. She stayed home with me for 4 months and then went back to work....I love them and have never looked back on them for what they had to do. I know that my parents did everything they did out of the love for me.

They had to work (Just like you and your DH have to work) to provide for me and that's what you are doing for Selin.

I am sure it doesn't help, but just know you are a GREAT!! WONDERFUL mother! and we are all here for you.

More ((((HUGS)))) for you. hang in there.

(((HUGS))) Christine. I think you are doing the right thing seeing a therapist to help get you through this. As much as you would like to be the one there with her all day every day, Selin will be TOTALLY fine while you are at work. TOTALLY. You'll see. (((HUGS)))

Christine, (((hug))

First, I'm not going to say that Monday will be easy because it won't. Even though part of me missed work and was ready to go back I also didn't want to leave Simon. However, sometimes we have to do what we don't want for the best part of our families. I tell myself all the time that this is just temporary (though my temporary is more like short term because it won't be till 2012 before I even have the option to work part time or stay home)

The days I work I feel like I hardly see Simon due to the way things work with my current schedule, DH's work days and such. They are gone before I get home and I pick Simon up in the afternoon and get a few hours with them after I sleep all day. With the way my job is there are weekend I am never home. I go back to work Sunday night and won't get another day off till I get off on Saturday morning. I'll go 6 days where I only see Simon for a short time. I'm not looking forward to it, but I don't have any other option due to our situation right now. I also carry the insurance with DH in college.

Unforchunatly we have created a world where staying home isn't the easy as it used to be option. While I love that women can do the same things as men, at the same time I hate that we now have to do these things to be able to survive in this world.

Monday will come and go. It will be hard. Do your best to go to work and do what you have to while you are there and then go home and enjoy your daughter. She knows who mommy is. As much as I hate sending Simon to day care, seeing the smile on his face and how he lights up when I go pick him up remindes me that I am always his mommy and he knows how much I love him.

Oh Christine, I'm so sorry you are dealing with all this. I got a little teary eyed just reading your post and imagining what it must be like for you. I did go back to work part time after my first, but she was almost a year old and it was only three days a week and that was hard enough. Hopefully the thinking about it all is worse than it will be in reality. And I'm sure it will get easier as you do it too. Hopefully a job with less hours and closer to home will pan out for you soon!

Sending you lots of (((hugs))) Christine!

Like the others said, Monday will be hard, but you'll get through it. Just take it one day at a time right now. Once you see that Selin does okay, and still loves her mommy, it will become easier.

I have my fingers crossed for you that a P/T job comes up closer to home.

Huge (((HUGS))), Christine. We all totally understand your feelings of sadness. It's going to be a rough week, but you will get through it and I bet it will get easier every day, even if it never gets to be something you are 100% okay with. I think it is a good thing to think of this all as temporary - you will be home with your sweet girl someday, and you will look back on this and be proud of yourself for doing what you had to do for your family. Everyone is right though, Selin will always know who mommy is and she will do great at daycare. It sounds like she's going to be very well taken care of, and will even have the chance to interact with some other babies, which will be so good for her.

I will be thinking of you on Monday and hoping something PT and closer to home becomes an option!
