I am writing a book and the main character is a teacher. I know a little about what that entails because of my mom's best friend but I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing what a typical day is like, your prep, your take home, etc. Especially interested in older kids, high school level. Not sure if any of you teach high school but if you have any insight into that I would appreciate you sharing! :smileyhappy:

Thank you! I had heard that before from my aunt lol. She doesn't really take the summer off, she spends it lesson planning and buying supplies and decorations for her classrooms so I never understood the saying anyway lol! I thought what she does was what they all do. And in reading this I realize I say aunt because she was my aunt, her 2 sons are my cousins, but my uncle (dads side) divorced her and now my mom and her are best friends.

I don't teach in the primary/secondary setting, but I just wanted to add that you shouldn't joke about being a teacher because of summer vacation. That gets teachers very fired up! And I totally get why. :smileywink:

How cool that you are writing a book! I've been playing with some book ideas myself...probably not fiction though. Right now, I'm making notes for a book of essays on motherhood. Not a parenting book, just reflections! It will probably be decades before I get any further than note-taking.

Good luck! Sounds fun!
