An ex of mine gave me cash and a gold (I hated gold at the time) Minny Mouse (I was never a fan, or any sort of Minny Mouse supporter) locket. He obviously had found it in his sister's jewelry box or something! Needless to say, he's not my DH! LOL!
OMG!! LOL!! I can't believe the minne mouse locket!! Please tell me you were under 14 yo!!!!
Also the bobbing head gift sounds awful!!!
Well, my worst gift that I can remember was from my late grandmother... She was a wonderful woman, but wasn't good with gifts... She gave me once a pair of spandex tights... white with orange polka dots (the size of a small coin). I was 11, and really wasn't into fashion at the time, but even I could tell they were NOT ok!!! LOL!!!
It's weird, you know, how disappointed I was a t the time of the gift, and how it made me slightly angry every time I saw them later (the things were in a costumes box for years)... And now thinking about it, it only makes me miss her terribly!!!
My grandmother gave me a necklace from her jewelry box one year. It was a (fake) gold angel, probably 2.5 inches long, on a long chain. That in and of itself wasn't terrible.
BUT...
The next year, I opened a box. It was the SAME necklace, only in silver. It wasn't something I would wear in the first place, and now I have two of them. Ugh.
Melissa - My step dad once got my mom a Chia Per for Christmas many years ago. She was NOT pleased! Now he consults me every year on what to buy her. Lol
The only gift I can think of is from my fav aunt. She ha my name in the grab bag and bought me a pair of Ove Gloves! At the time I was thinking WTF? and even she said trust me, you're going to love them and you know what, she was right! They're the best oven gloves I've ever owned! So a bad gift actually turned out to be not do bad, but it still was weird to receive them as a Christmas gift. ;-)
I do believe I have 2 Ove Gloves ;) Both of them came from my in-laws, but they were stocking stuffers. We try to get creative with those, some of my coolest kitchen utensils were recevied in my stocking. We have a lot of fun with that each year!
