Weight Loss Buddies?

So tonight I dusted off my Wii Fit and it shockingly informed me that it had been 344 days since my last workout. Yikes! That's nearly a year! I mean I have exercised in the last year, just not on the Wii. I worked out tonight for about 45 minutes and felt great. I got to thinking...

Would anyone be interested in participating in a monthly chat about weight loss? We can share our goals, struggles, successes, food tips and tricks, etc. I know I could use the motivation to shed the baby belly for good. :-D

Let me know your thoughts! If enough people are interested, I'll start a new thread!

I am interested in this and have already started on my weight loss. I have found a great way to lose weight that doesn't break the bank. I would love to share it with anyone who would be interested.

-Current weight: 147

-Goal weight (ST or LT goal): 132.

-Biggest obstacle: Boredom! I eat when I'm idle! And of course it's not something healthy like a fruit, it has to be chocolate or something like that. Being a WAHM, I'm close to food all the time... not good!

I know what you mean about eating a lot during vacations! On the bright side, mediterranean food tends to have a lot of vegetables and lean meats so if you pair that up with lots of walking (sightseeing and stuff), you should be quite fine!

-Current weight: 225

-Goal weight (ST or LT goal): ST-10 lbs LT-160

-Biggest obstacle: Emotional eating...especially bad right now because of the job thing. Also feeling stuck inside with the baby during the day even though I could totally go for a walk with the stroller...again its a mood thing.

-Biggest obstacle: We don't keep junk snacks in the house, so my biggest weakness is getting sweet stuff/bags of chips and keeping them in the office. If I don't keep food around, I don't eat it. If I know it's there, I graze even if I'm not hungry.

-How has your weight journey been in the past? I got up to 156 in high school, and then lost it in college. At my lowest, I was 132. I'm most comfortable between 135-140. I got down to 137 within 6 weeks after Peter was born, but my LC told me I really needed to be eating more when his weight gain stalled. I can honestly maintain where I am right now with no work, but 10 pounds would make my clothes fit a little better.

-What techniques are you using? I'm walking a half marathon (13.1 miles) in a couple weeks with some friends from another board, and then I'm planning to start hammering down with the cross training and get back into running. I'm also planning to start buying more fresh fruit for when I have a sweet craving.

I'm doing OK right now. The cream soda float last night wasn't great for me, but at least that was the only sweet thing I had all day. I really just need to focus. :)

Where'd everybody go? Hope I didn't scare you all away! If you haven't done so already, please fill out the mini questionnaire so we can help support one another with our goals.

I have totally fallen off the wagon this week. I haven't been on the Wii in a week, although I did get a lot of walking in this week. I just feel like there are not enough hours in the day. Realistically, the only time I can get my stuff done is after Selin is in bed. On a good night, that's 8pm, but sometimes it could be 9pm and by then, I'm so tired that I don't feel like exercising, let alone doing the 100 other things on my to-do list.

I'm pretty sure I'm not PG, but I have been SO hungry lately, I feel like I did when Selin was in the first six months and nursing all the time. And Emmy, I'm with you - I only want to eat junk!

We're leaving for our trip overseas on Thursday and I know we're going to eat a ton while we're there (food is a big part of DH's culture and family and people will take it personally if you don't eat what they cook for you!), but on the plus side, we will be relying on walking and public transit to get around so hopefully the two will balance one another out. :-P
