HI there

I was wondering if we could all share our stories about being daycare providers.

Great question Allison!

I'm going to try to answer from the perspective of my old DCP. I'm not sure what the regulations were in our state but she was licensed because of the numbers of kids she could watch. The daycare was ran by her and her husband with a full-time helper (now her daughter who's taking childcare classes in college). Being licensed gave her the opportunity to have more kids in her care plus allowed her to get funds from the state to help pay for the meals for the children. By doing that she was able to make her business more attractive to parents since she didn't have to charge as much.

I hope that the remodel works out for you, that would be a very nice solution! What advantages are there to being certified in Oregon?

The biggest advantage to being registered is being able to have more kids.
