Giving notice today

I've got a letter printed up and in everyone's box today that tells them my last day of care. It'll be May 28th. That's giving them 14 weeks notice. WAY more than required per my contract. However, all but one family knows anyway, and I'm to the point now that if they leave early, they leave early. I've already got one that this Friday is his last day and I'll be glad to see him go! He's one of those kids that gets the entire group going. I'm ready for some peace around here. I have another one that will be leaving in mid-March, but I knew that months ago. Her mom's a student and will be finishing school then. She may be here a day a week or so, just on drop in basis. It's going to be hard with the one family that doesn't know yet. I've been dreading telling them. I love their little guy SOOOO much! I'm really going to miss him and I'm sure they're going to be upset. But it's got to be done. We have decided this will be for the best. AND we're both ready to have our house back. Just last night the handle on the front door broke. I know it's because the kids hang on it all the time, even when I tell them "Only adults get to open that door." They just don't listen and their parents don't care! Well, now it's broke and we're not fixing it until June.
We'll see how the one family takes it. For the rest it's a formality.
