Mat Leave ?

I have a DCB, 19 months. Love him! Been caring for him since last summer.
He is p/t, Mom is a contract accountant (we get along well!) is pregnant & due in June. (Coincidentally, her due date is the EXACT same as DCB!)
She also has asked if he can come f/t for March & April (tax season)

Mom has indicated she intends on keeping current DCB home for the summer, knowing I have my own 5 kids to take care of & juggling that schedule. I absolutely do NOT mind this reprieve & would not try to fill that spot.
Mom also indicated (when I joked about closing DH last fall bcs MY kids were sick so much, I felt "unreliable") that new baby and current DCB would be coming here -- "No way you can't do that, cuz you're taking care of this kid too!".

This is a first for me. I know some people have current parents fill out a Mat Leave document/"contract". I have no idea. I'm big on contracts & having everything in writing but is that overkill for Mat Leave?

Thoughts/examples of forms or wording/opinions appreciated!

For when he comes f/t in March and April, charge her the full time flat rate that you charge everyone else.

Thanks Deb, for your response.

I have no prob charging the normal f/t rate for Mar & April. Mom has even said, that she thinks I don't charge enough for their daily rate, and would gladly pay me more if I asked! (Gotta love parents like that!)

I would only be holding the p/t spot over the summer - with the existing DCB returning p/t in the fall (Sept).
I'd have a hard time with the concept of holding a spot for a year!

Personally- I'd never hold a spot longer than the summer. 1 year is a lot of money wasted for me- and most likely they will not return.

GOOD LUCK
