Mother's Day is just over a month away (May 9th). Any plans? Neat crafts? Planting flowers? Don't forget to get them started! I was going to have my 2 1/2yo plant marigolds for his mom (because they're pretty much guaranteed to grow! lol BUT, I can't find the seeds! lol I'll keep looking. It's just him here today. If it comes down to it we'll just buy a 6pk of starter flowers. No biggie..

Anyone else doing something special for the moms? Care to share? :)

I am doing a framed picture of the children and will have the children make some chocolate candies for their moms.

Oh boy, I've been meaning to look at the calendar to see when it is!

We are going away(to Disney!!!) May 1-8 and Mother's day is the 9th so I guess I'd better get cracking!

I was thinking of hand and food prints on tote bags, but that's going to take some work for sure.

I am so not prepared this year.

For Father's Day I'm doing the handprint/poem thing in a frame, totally selfish reasons - I did it with my older 3 kids when they were in my dayhome but haven't yet done it with my younger 2 (ages 1 & 3) so I think it'll be nice for Dad to have all 5 of them done. And cute to compare the handprint sizes of the 5 kids bcs they will be done at approx the same ages!

But Mother's Day...I've got nothing planned. I like the tote bag idea though - would you use regular paint? Or fabric paint?

I'm doing a project that can be done for any age since I have a range of 4 mo-5 yrs right now. I'm getting white t-shirts, having the kids put hands in fabric paint to put hand prints all over the t-shirts. I will write "Best Mom Hands Down" on the shirts.

Monique, do you get t-shirts for the moms or the kids? If you get them for the moms what size do you get? I'd hate to guess what size a mom wears and be wrong--either too small, doesn't fit or too big, mom get offended! lol I have kid's t-shirts I could use. I guess you could put "I have the best mom, hands down."

Yeah, I've been procrastinating and still don't have seeds planted! lol Now they'll barely sprout. Maybe I'll get some terracotta pots and buy plants. :p
