I have a In-Home daycare question that i would like some suggestions with, I have one little boy~2 1/2~ his grandmother picks him up every afternoon and the minute she walks in the door he starts talking very rude to her and running around. I have put him in time out while she is here talked to him all day about being nice to her

That would get old. If gma is pretty consistent with what time she comes I would have him all suited up (coat, shoes, etc) and have him waiting. When she gets there keep things brief with her (but nice) and let her take him home.

Thanks~I think it bothers me because he hits her, runs around my house knocking stuff over and is just distrubtive. He is a sweetheart for me just a "little" mischevious but listens well and plays good. I now have him ready to leave and kinda ignore him when she comes in. I have watched them out the front window and she has to chase him around and he knocks stuff over in the yard! He screams if I try to put him in the car because he wants her to do it, It usually takes her about 15 minutes to get in the car, sometimes I will have to leave I will just get in my car and leave her, I have tryed to help but it is just frustrating me so i will leave it to her to work it out.

HI there!

I sort of agree with the other reply. If the boy is good for you and not being a problem for you than leave it up to her to deal with. I've had a few kids act up when their parents come in (actually having a 23 month old doing it now) and I just have her get all ready to go so when mom comes in she's ready. Last week I actually carried her to the car so I didn't have to watch the mom and daughter "dance" around each other.

Just my opinion.

Can I ask why it bothers you?
