Do you already have your summer vacation dates planned? Are you staying close to home or traveling far? Do you have hotel, plane tickets, rental car etc. purchased if necessary? What are you doing? How long will you be closed?

Last year I took my one-week as soon as school closed and then had the rest of the summer with nothing to look forward to, lol. This year we've gone the opposite - we're taking the very last week before school starts. I don't know if that will be much better! It'll feel like summer will never end while we await vacation. Although we may not be anticipating this vacation with any great urgency given that we're renting a beach house with extended family and we're not currently getting along well with dh's brother & wife. It will definitely be an interesting vacation!

Way better than our summer vacation is the cruise to the Caribbean in November just for me and dh. That's very exciting as we've never cruised!

I have nothing planned yet. I am assuming I will be going to San Diego for a few days. If not We will go to Rocky Point (Mexico) but only if things have calmed down. I don't want to be trapped in another country if things get dicey over here.

we aren't going anywhere. If we do it will be over the weekend to Iowa or Ky to see family.

I usually take off the same weeks every year. But, like you mentioned, I take off the last week in June then have the rest the summer to endure with not much to look forward to. I asked dh how he felt about changing our vaction dates to later in the summer, and he didn't think it was a good idea as I try to space them about 6 months apart. In Dec I am taking a week off also. Usually I take 2 weeks in the summer and one around Xmas but since we are going to Key West in early Dec I am only taking one week.

As for the summer vacation, we usually rent a beach house in OC. The kids love this. But this year I have family who has offered the use of their house that is close to the resorts so we are going to take them up on the offer. It definately is going to be more economical, and we get to spend time with family. And, if it gets to be too much we can always go stay with my other sil who also lives close to OC. And if that doesn't work out there are always motels, LOL!!!! But they are always glad to see us so I know there won't be any problems.

Hi. We usually do day trips due to the fact that my hubby's weekend sometimes fall during the week. We'll probably take the 6 yr old w/ us. He is like family. Not the other though. She's only part-time and a whiner. We're going to try to go to the Jersey shore (since that's were I'm from) the last week in June. Our pool was closed last year due to lack of funds from the town in fix the darn thing. It is HOPEFULLY supposed to open this year. So, no doubt, we'll have season passes. That's what we are all looking forward too!

Nothing will compare with last year's vacation to Disney World. This year, we're going up to the lake house near the Wisconsin Dells for the middle week in June. My sister and her family may join us. The kids like to water ski and tube on the lake and my dh loves to fish. We're taking another week off in July and going camping in Renfro Valley, KY. Our trailer has all of the ammenities of home (besides a dishwasher lol!) so as long as the weather cooperates, we'll have fun. We may also spend one weekend at Lake Shaeffer (Indiana Beach). Besides that, I have one day off in Sept for our annual girls weekend at Cranberry Fest in Warrens WI and the 3 days off between Christmas and New Years Eve.

Wow! Just thinking about it, I can't wait!
