I'm new here. I got laidoff in the beginning of November and I have been looking for work that I can do at home and I just can't seen to find anything. Its been really hard with me out of work, but we are managing. I was curious if any of you gals know where I can find legitamate work that I can do at home. I have a 2 1/2 year daughter and my husband and I are trying to have our second. I would love to know that I can be at home with my kids until they get in school. I know that is going to be hard with out that second income coming in. I'm sure that some of you have been in our situation before and might know where I am coming from. If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it.

TIA,

Hello and Welcome Regina,

Glad to have you here! Sorry to hear about your layoff. There are basically only two ways to work from home and that is to start a business or telecommute. The best way to find something legitimate is to ask tons of questions and do a lot of research. What are your interests? Skills? We would be happy to help you brainstorm ideas. If you are looking more towards a job from home, where you work for someone else you will need to update your resume and start making local contacts.

Hi Regina! I hope you are doing well. I wanted to add my .02 - hoping to help in your search. I am not sure what type of job you are looking for - but I found my 'job' on this board:

http://www.wahm.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi

Go to the Telecommuting Moms link. In that board, there is a thread called Work at Home Jobs... there are virtually tons of legit jobs in there (all types). The ladies (and gents) on that board are all pros at identifying a scam. That board rocks! I am currently working for Working Solutions (www.workingsol.com) doing data entry on a contract basis. I also found my company on that board (www.onceuponafamily.net). It is a brand new company just starting out - There is only one other Consultant in my state! Can you imagine the potential???? I love our products and our website. Family is very important to me and that's what our company is all about... treasured moments with our FAMILY.

Take care and I sincerely hope I have helped you. I searched and searched before I left my company of 12.5 years at the end of March. I know where you are with your search, maybe this board will help you. It was a God send for us.

Hugs!

I recommend you check out our whos who list and see what we do and if you see one that looks interesting you can contact that person. Or, if you have hobbies or make a list of things you like to do and then look for something along those lines. I myself love to have parties for all ages and that is why I signed up with 1800partyshop and now I have my own business at www.eddingtonspartyshop.com. I love the company, products and the other consultants and support staff. Everyone is just fun and easy going yet serious about their business.

Hope you find something that makes you happy for years to come!
