Housing update!

So we put down a deposit and first month's down on a new lease. I'm a bit irritated because I don't have the paperwork yet (I gave them $3K for crying out loud), but I guess these things take time. First, it's a a 4BR -- the other was only 3. Second, it's almost the sq. feet of our Charlotte house -- this is 2100, our house was 2400. It's no smoking, but I'm counting that as a GREAT thing. :) Oh, and community pool, practically within walking distance. And, unfortunately a new school for Jake (Will gets to keep his, which was a priority) but he's only .5 miles from it -- so, half the distance of the one we have now. And we already said that we'd keep in touch with his KJHS friends -- this new house is just about 15 minutes down the road. I'm sure he and his bestie will still see each other a lot, esp if we go get him/take him home. They'll be in the same high school after the next school year.

Lease is for the 15th (!!!) so I'm packing like a madwoman. Need to call cable and utilities and all that. Haven't put in the 30 day notice thing yet with our landlord because I have to sign that lease first to be sure. In my heart I think it's a done deal, but I need to sign something. Every day we don't get that letter out adds $38, so I want this to happen soon. By Friday, or I'm going to make serious noise.

And the funny thing? We got this one because we had our app in first -- haven't even SEEN the place -- but several others have applied, and we're getting it because we got our app in first. But it's a great neighborhood, HOA and all that, and good schools. So, I'm not worried. Hubby is, but I am certain this is a good situation for us. And, Zo gets her own room. I need it. Still not sleeping through the night and as much as I am anti CIO, something is gonna give when we move. She's 10m old. It's time for her to sleep in her bed, all night long. Dangit!!

It's more $$ than the other, but I think it will be a better fit. And, I think praying for our mean landlord made all the difference. I wrestled with it and had lots of words with God, but I did pray that He would bless that man. I really think that we were blessed instead. Never doubt that God is good, right? Smile

So, yay!! I'm a bit stressed about everything that I still need to do, but I know it will all work out. It always does. By His grace, no doubt.

Happy Wednesday!

How exciting!!!! I hate moving/packing but I love the excitement of having a new place! I am so jealous of your 4BR, I would love to have a 4th bedroom!

HIP HIP HOORAY!!! The new house sounds fabulous. Size does matter, hee hee. My house is 2170 sq ft. We'd love to have another 230 sq ft. I guess technically we would if I threw away all of these darn toys, LOL LOL.

Your DH should smoke outside anyway, just sayin'. He will live and your house will be that much more liveable and kid friendly. My mom and stepdad always smoked in the house and the car and it was yucky, don't miss that a bit.

Sounds like you were in the right place at the right time. And a pool too? SWEET! I am so happy for you all. Keep us updated whenever you stop to take a breather between now and moving day... Wink
