Well, we're happy the Giants won. We are Indy fans above all else (we're from Indy), so it was nice to see a Manning win in the house that Peyton built. :)
Good luck with the court date! Hope it goes well!
Jake made it to school after being out an entire week, so I expect a ton of homework on his end. Jake is a smart boy, but VERY lazy, so I'll have to be on his butt about that.
Libby starts driver's ed today, so for the next 4 weeks I'll be leaving work just a bit early to get here there on time. She attends from 4-6, and the other alternative was to begin next week and go from 6-8 and I prefer not having to be awake at 8 (sad, but I am often asleep by 7 anymore, or at least crashing). It shouldn't cause any problems with work. They're very flexible.
Libby and I hit the DMV on Thursday to get her permit (and my license) and then hopefully head to the big mall to get me some maternity jeans. We're excited about shopping. :)
Still need to decide when I'm taking off my 8 days of vacation. I need to just decide already and be done with it.
The most interesting thing happened last week. Hubby was told a few weeks ago that he had to go to a company-wide conference in Denver in March. We got his ticket, he made hotel and conference reservations. All reimbursable, but costing us about $1200 up front before we get reimbursed after the conference. Well, his douche of a boss sent him an email on Friday saying that he was officially uninvited, to cancel his reservations, etc. He did this in an email he sent to other people as well (really, has NO management skills whatsoever). So, we're happy to cancel everything, but the ticket is non-refundable and I am not paying for this mistake. Hubby told his boss that we already have the airline tickets, and boss wants him to transfer the ticket to the chef -- which, cannot be done. So we'll see how that all goes down. I haven't canceled the ticket yet because I don't know if this jerk will change his mind since we have the tickets already.
The thing is, hubby couldn't have been univited due to anything he did. If anything, it's probably a space thing, since while he is technically in charge of all F&B in the hotel, his title does not convey such, so they're likely making room for people who really need to be there (like all of the chef's, and event coordinators who sell the banquet space). But, no one reading that email would know, so it makes hubby look bad. And, if I didn't care about his job, I'd go to the GM (the big boss) and tell him how he did hubby. As it is, he's fulfilled his year promise and we may be looking at moving to Denver next year. We'll see. Hubby loves to open hotels but
Brie, your hubby's boss sounds like a piece of work.
Mary, that is so funny that we both have "one kid down, one to go" on the Valentines!
Halftime show was good in my opinion.
Yeah, he's a tool for sure. But, hubby turned in paperwork and his boss was very apologetic about the whole thing. And, it was a job description thing, why hubby was uninvited, which is exactly what we figured. They got a memo or some such thing. Anyhoo. Hopefully they'll cut a check this week and that'll be that. :) And yeah, Denver is nice. I was stationed in Colo. Springs in my AF days, and always loved hanging out in Denver.
I wanted to tell you how impressed I am that you've got 7 books down for your book club. I'm still reading The Night Circus (which is very good thus far), and have been since Christmas, so I've not even touched the other 3 new books I have. It's depressing. I'm just too tired to read. Or do anything much, now that I think about it. LOL. Someday I'll get back to it. :)
Well, I don't really have any regrets about it. All of my past has led me here, and here isn't a bad place to be at all. :)
