Happy Veteran's Day.  God Bless my sweet Marine Corps dad who gave his life in Vietnam 44 years ago!

We have a pretty average week planned.  Claire and I are getting our teeth cleaned tomorrow.  Man, I hate going to the dentist.  I'm always afraid they'll say I need 5 root canals and it'll cost $20,000 (not that it's ever gone down like that).

This week I have a lot of cleaning to do.  DH's sis and her husband, plus 18-year-old nephew, will be spending 5 days up here from Georgia for Thanksgiving next week.  Hubs is freaking out about how much junk I need to sweep under the rug before they get here, LOL.

I know I'm behind the times, but I just discovered 'The Walking Dead' on Netflix and now I HEART ZOMBIES.  Watched Season 1 on Saturday and half of Season 2 on Sunday.  I am so hooked.  I have to watch the rest of Season 2 this week even though I keep seeing zombies coming out of the trees when I dare to look in my back yard.... Embarassed

What is happening with you these days?

We love the Walking Dead! Discovered it when the second season was about to begin and we spent the day watching the 1st season marathon. That was it for us. We almost never watch it on Sunday night though -- we seem to stay a week behind because we're both in bed early on Sundays. Though we did catch last night's episode -- hubs caught it on time, and I caught it in the middle of the night (not all of it, I don't think).

I cannot believe next week is T'giving. Not remotely ready for the work-week next week or the dinner. I need to get it together.

My house. My goodness, I think I'm giving up. It might be easier to clean if we were just to move out and start over. I cannot even explain my garage to you. Maybe the kids and I can tackle it next week. I just moved things around to accomodate Zo's stuff, but then realized after that I put her stuff where I want to put the tree (which we'll put up T'giving weekend). D'oh!!

On tap, the usual. Work, clean, rest, play with baby, etc. One extra thing is today, Will has a doc appt for either a pulled muscle or his appendix -- we don't know which. I think it's a muscle though, because in addition to his right side, he said his groin (but used the J word to explain it to me -- who thought up that stupid word anyway?) hurts as well. He's seeing the male doc in the practice just in case, since it could be some kind of guy issue. I know I feel better with a woman regarding my parts, so I assume he'd feel better talking to a guy about his.

Oh, and that brings me to a question: how late is too late for the 15, almost 16yo boy to be out on a school night? He was at a birthday party last night (and dancing, which is why we think he may have a pulled muscle and not an appendicitis), and wasn't coming home until 10. Hubs thinks this is too late (because at 15/16, he was doing those not-so-awesome things kids do, think Matt and Libby). Then I tell him that Will is not him, is our straight-A student (4.1 or .2 gpa or whatever, little brainiac), and then it's really about him getting into an accident (which happens 24/7 in this city, I swear). On the one hand, I'm with him, because kids are dumb, darkness adds to stupid drivers, etc. But OTOH, I cannot bubble him up. I don't really think 10 is too late, I guess. Thoughts?

Oh, and here's a neat thing. Do you know about the bumbo floor seat for babies? Well, they didn't have that the last time I had a baby, so when I found out about it, decided to get one for Zo. Did that Saturday, and of course fat baby doesn't fit -- I can put her in it, but need help taking her out (someone has to pull the seat off her, LOL). So, took it back, and found another floor seat, made by Mamas & Papas (they made the carrier we bought her that she hates so far, haha). Well, it goes up until 12m+ (cushy inside seat comes out for a harder, larger seat), so we figure we'll get another 3 or 4 months out of it. Wink And, it came with a tray, which the bumbo did not (sold separately). So. I tell you, we have far more baby equipment than baby uses, but I do so enjoy buying things for her.

Oh and finally! I finished a book!! LOVE the witches book... though the name escapes me. Shadow of the Night maybe? Anyhoo, good read. I've started on The Twelve, 2nd part of the Passage trilogy. Go me! Smile

PS: God bless our veterans, and families such as yours who have paid the ultimate price. Freedom sure isn't free...

I'm not ready either, but I did buy a 20-lb frozen turkey.  Geez, that monster is going to take a long time to thaw in the fridge!

I don't think 10 pm is too late, especially since it wasn't a school night.  Here's my thing.  You could keep him in, but 9 pm seems really early for a 16-year-old boy... and then how wild will he be once he finally gets to stay out later when he is 17, 18 or 19?  Best to cut him small amounts of slack and let him learn how to handle it.  If he betrays your trust, warn him he will be home where daddy can keep him safe, sound, and busy with extra chores!  It was hard enough when we were young, I wouldn't want to be a kid these days - that is the truth!

That's cool you are a W.D. fan too.  Hubs missed out b/c he was too busy with his fantasy football leagues - oh well!

We missed the bumbo seats too, but they are cute to see the little babies sitting up.  Great job spoiling the baby and getting reading time in too!

Have a wonderful week!!!

Finally....Geeeesh...it took me like 4 times trying to login before it would let me post!!!! I know what you mean about the dentist.....I don't really know anyone who likes to go...I feel kinda bad for the poor dentists! I have to go on Nov. 27th...so mine is coming up soon. I'm sure you will work your Magic and the house will look spotless!! Wanna stop over and take care of mine while you're at it....I'd pay you to do it!!!! I wish we could just snap our fingers and that stuff would get cleaned....no such luck!!! Sorry, never have seen the Walking Dead before.....not sure I could handle the zombies....eeeeeek! Pretty "usual" week this week...We have an appraiser coming over Thursday...we are trying to refinance before the interest rates go up again!!!! We started this process over a month ago and they finally called to come over. They have been so backed up. DH has to travel to St. Louis in a U-Haul truck to deliver a bunch of stuff to our former President/CEO. He left a much of stuff behind and hi-tailed it outta town when he was let go over 2 weeks ago. He leaves early Friday morning, hoping to get there between 2-3....unload the stuff and then return the U-Haul. Then he is going to stay at some friends house over night. On Saturday one of our friends will be flying down to pick him up. Should be interesting...hopefully it will go without any issues. So the boys and I will have to find something fun to do on Saturday!!!!! Happy Monday! And one big THANK YOU to all our past and future veterans!!

Oh gosh, sorry you had such a tough time logging in to post!

That is so nice of your hubby to do that.  I hope the old CEO is going to make that worth his trouble?

I don't know why the re-fi process is such a pain with all the hoops to jump through, but it'll be worth it.  Good luck with the process and happy week!
