I was supposed to meet Dave's teacher's at 8:15 today for an IEP meeting but the poor special ed teacher is really sick so that has been rescheduled. Works for me although I feel for her. Dave said "That is terrible that she was sick on Mother's Day." I just love it that he is sweet and sympathetic.
I made the "earliest available" psychiatry appointment for Katie which is, of course, a month away (the doc is in such demand that it costs $300 cash if you miss that appt - sheesh!). Then I immediately called my doctor (now Katie's physician ever since Katie has been too old to see a pediatrician). Dr. knew about the situation because she had prescribed 20 Klonopin the day after Danny died so Katie could sleep (I've been jealous, honest to God haven't slept through the night yet since that boy died).
Fun Fact: Our doc is a PA - physician assistant, not really a doctor, but she's awesome. She's the one who figured out my thyroid wasn't working 8 years ago when I had no clue. While I was running and following the iVillage 'Breastfeeding and Weightloss' Board and not losing a single pound, LOL. Mary was skinny and was there anyway to keep me company - such a pal!
So I told the PA that we were in the ER and she had paperwork on the way, but Katie couldn't wait until the middle of June to start on medication. She immediately agreed, but said she had to examine Katie so we went Friday. Katie is now on a low dose of Prozac and seems kind of optimistic, except for the fact that she caught a nasty cold at the ER and is sick from that. Does the drama ever stop when you are 18 and stressed? Luckily her silly mom went through an extreme couponing phase a few months ago and has LOADS of cold remedies to numb the sore throat or dry up the phlegm factory.
So it's soccer practices (Matt said he'll take the Littles if Kate is too sick since he wants the 10 bucks) and work, and all of the rest of it around here.
What is happening in your neck of the woods?
PS Sorry for the extra reading!
