I'm thrilled to report that Claire's handwriting is improving and I can read it!

Ah, handwriting. William and Jake both write horribly. Libby's isn't much better. But, Will can spell fairly well. Libby and Jake are lost causes, I fear. And, I'm a spelling nazi, so it makes life so fun. :)

Hmmm. Well, I guess what is thrilling is that hubby IS going to Denver after all. We've already got our reimbursement from them canceling his spot, but I didn't cancel the ticket, and he's going, only this time to be on the back end, in taking care of the banquet functions as a task-force member. It's a really good thing for his resume and he does this every chance he gets. His best buddy from years ago is the new F&B guy at this particular hotel and asked him to come and help out. So.

And, he needs new suits. Of course, with the baby expenses ($3k deductible we have to pay, and more than half of it is due this month) and now another car issue, I don't have it. So we're getting a 401k loan, expedited, and it will handle all of these expenses and we'll have no tax ramifications. And, only 4.25% to boot, which is better than our bank would do for sure.

Only downside now is that I cannot take the Jeep in when I had planned with him being gone in case I need to run out. So, gotta call and reschedule. But, up side is I can push it back a week and also get the front differential addressed at the same time, so it will all shake out nicely. Maybe I can get the windows fixed, too. We had 2 window motors break within a few weeks of each other. Unbelievable.

I tell you. Our lives are never dull, that's for sure. :)

Oh my gosh, that trip has been a roller coaster ride and he hasn't even left the house yet.

LOL - IKR? It's been sick. We ended up keeping the old ticket -- I'll cancel the to Denver part when he leaves on Sunday (rather than Tuesday) and he'll come home on the return flight he already has. Continental doesn't have a SINGLE flight to or from during this timeframe, so, we couldn't do anything online with changing flights. I had to call, and after 45 minutes on hold (and not speaking to anyone) we just decided we'd find an earlier flight ourselves and do it this way. We wouldn't have gotten credit since we couldn't get him on a flight with the original airline we had. It's just how these changes work, apparently. Originally he was just getting there as the conference began and coming home just after it left, so it's more important that he's there early for prep work and all that.

A new ticket for any timeframe from Sunday to Saturday, would have been around $1200. Expensed or not, that's just too much for me to foot initially.

The most fun thing about yesterday though wasn't the airline stuff. It was picking up Libby's BFF. Initially she was due to arrive at 5:45, but instead didn't get in until 11:30pm. I'm SO freakin' tired. I was up almost 24 hours. Not cool! But, she's here safe and sound and now it's just giggling teenagers for the next 10 days. Saints in heaven preserve me.

Ugh, sorry hubby hasn't done your taxes yet. I've done mine, but hubby hasn't done his. He's going to owe a good deal, so we're waiting until the last minute. It's due to all the relo bennies, so, whatever. I think we should expense that, too! ROFL!!!

I didn't even say that I was happy about Claire's handwriting -- but I am! So nice when they start getting the hang of things and you can actually read their writing. :) Will had such a hard time writing, he's a leftie and couldn't hold his pencil the right way. He went to occupational therapy for a bit, but they gave up. He holds his pencil how he holds it and they couldn't do anything to make it better. It's actually not awful for a boy. But, not great, either. LOL.

Yay Dylan!! I hope it keeps up!

We're all big readers here, with more books than a small library, but Jake hates to read. HATES it. His reading grade is always a C. He can read, and at a high lexile actually. He just isn't into it. It makes me sad. He's missing out on so much great stuff. And we've tried everything. The kid has great books, he just won't sit down and open up a book unles he has to, and then he is a last-minute guy. He read A Wrinkle in Time just 3 days before it was due. Had a month to do it.

If I hadn't been there, I'd wonder if he was mine sometimes. LOL.
