How many times have you heard that docs don't know whether your (or your child's) infection is bacterial or viral, and thus they don't know how to treat it? Researchers at Duke have come up with an accurate test to determine that and it only takes 12 hours to process, plenty of time to get antiviral or antibiotics meds on board to fight the infection. Take that, you superbugs!

You're right. We have been healthy for long that it's scaring me, like we're due for a doozy of an illness. Call me paranoid, but it just never lasts this long with little kids in the house! Got C&D their flu mist yesterday so that may help. Last year everyone else in the neighborhood still got sick even with the vaccine (we were spared and hadn't had our shots so who knows?!).
