In just over a decade, there could be life on Mars.  What time of person will volunteer to go?  Would you be proud or distressed if it happened to be someone you know?

Interesting article. I would be very distressed were it someone I was close to, that's for sure. Would never see him/her again. Plus, it's so uncertain. No guarantee they'd even make it to Mars, but then space flight is so iffy anyway, no matter where one is going.

I cannot fathom who would go. Someone adventurous, most likely.

Yep, I picture a crew like you'd see on the show Survivor.  Not a premise I'd come up with, but I'd check out the footage if they did show it on TV.  What will they think up next??
