What would you like to see to see President Obama do in the next 4 years?

Honestly, my biggest thing right now is that he doesn't do what I've read that he wants to do with reference to the EPA. Some policies are going to be hard on farmers in particular (greenhouse gases) and that scares me. Potential for so many to lose their livelihoods and drive up prices of everything.

I don't hate Obama Care, but I will concede that I don't know enough about the repercussions. I do think that universal healthcare (such as what Romney has in Mass) is not a bad thing. Had we not had insurance with Zo, we'd owe probably close to $8k for her birth alone, forget about immunizations. Insurance agreements have saved us a mint. And covering pre-existing conditions, that's just fair, particularly when children are involved.

I will also say that I didn't vote. I feel like I'm a woman without a party. Republicans think they have some sort of say with what goes on in a woman's uterus (which, against abortion though I may be, what a woman does in respect to that is between her and God, IMO -- and the only man who has any say is the man who is invited into a woman's private parts, and even that I wonder about, because for me, what I do with my body (not yours) is MY business only), and then there's President Obama and I am terrified about what's going on with our economy and yes, his being Pro-Choice (it's not easy being me, believe me -- I wrestle daily with my Christian, God-fearing side and my stay-the-heck-out-of-my-uterus thoughts). My father is VERY Christian and convinced me that voting for someone pro-choice is the same as performing an abortion, saints preserve me. My intellectual part of me doesn't believe that, but the part of me that wants everlasting life is scared to death of what my God may say to me.

Sorry, didn't mean for this to get into all that, but you know. It's a struggle, right? I'm a sinner, a Christian, a mom, and a woman. It's so hard to reconcile all of that in a political party. So. I didn't vote, and feel like my soul is ok. And in the end, for me, that's what matters. I couldn't vote for Romney. I couldn't vote for Presient Obama. I'm a woman without a party. <sigh>

There are well over a million abortions in the U.S. every year (42 million annually worldwide) - precious few are because of rape or threat to the mother.  We're going to have to answer for a lot more than party affiliation IMHO.

I'm not checking it out -- it just makes my heart sick, right? And I'm not saying there is/is not a reason for having to resort to that act. I cannot imagine what makes anyone come to that decision, and I won't pretend for a moment that I can.

I found a lump in my breast recently and tomorrow I go for a mammogram/ultrasound and was telling Libby that her daddy is very afraid because he cannot be left alone with the kids, right? Then I joked that I don't want to be left alone with my children some days. I suppose, light though it may be with me, it's probably not so light with everyone left in a position to make a choice...

/at least I don't have party affiliation to answer for. A silver lining in an otherwise terrible, awful, heartbreaking situation. To be sure.

I hear you, girl.

Hopefully it's just a clogged duct since you just had a baby a few months ago or fibrous tissue which is common at our age.  I'm crossing my fingers, toes, and eyes for you - good luck!
