Hi.

It's gone fine. While some of my tutoring kids have cancelled at the very last minute (like after the babysitter arrives), it's steady work and it's in my dining room... couldn't be much more convenient.

And my freelancing has gone OK as well. I have one steady job that, for the time being anyway, provides a check every two weeks.

October is going pretty well. I had 3 home parties and 2 catalog shows. The catalog shows were small, but the hosts only wanted to get the minimum in sales to get the host special for this month, so that's ok. The other 3 are probably going to be big - my mom did a show last week that will probably be at least $700, I had one last Sunday that's probably going to close at around $700, and I have a show tonight and she's going to have about 20 people there, so that should be a doosie, too!! :) I only need to submit $1250 in sales to get my override for having 2 people on my team, so I'm definitely there. I have Nov and Dec. completely booked right now, too, so I'm starting to book shows in Jan and Feb, which is what most people are telling me they want to do, anyway. I'm still working hard to get more people on my team, but for the most part, I'm doing well. Really looking forward to the 6 shows I have booked in November - woohoo!! :)

Still working hard at being a WAHM. EBay selling has gone really great and I can't wait to do it full-time. As soon as I have used the extra income I am generating through ebay to pay off some smaller debts, I am quitting my day job. It is getting really hard to go to work every day now. I like my job but now that I know I could make a living and stay home with my kids...why would I do anything else...

It is a little difficult to explain to people though... their reaction is usually, "So you are going to quit your corporate job...and sell used clothes on ebay?"

Oh well, it pays really good and I will have lots of time for my family that I have never had before. Love the WAHM board! Thanks!

I've been so busy this month, I'm not even sure I could organize my thoughts about it all. I've restructured my entire website and transferred it to a new domain. I've been writing some articles and renewing affiliate programs. I've closed some direct sales parties and distributed catalogs. It's really just been one blur after another. (My friend's dad just passed away this week, so I've been very distracted helping her out.)

I guess my next plan of action is to do some research on search engine optimization and to get organized again. Ha!

Alice, I wish you lived in my area... boy, oh boy... could my eldest use a math tutor!

Glad to hear that both of your niches are going well, that steady paycheck sure is helpful, I'm sure!

Sarah, it's great to hear that eBay has been working so well for you! I've heard some fabulous stories... in fact, I know one lady on my playgroup has mentioned having $10k months before! Way to go, that's awesome that you're going to be able to pay off some things so you can quit your J-O-B!

Wow, that's great that you've had so much going on with your business that you can barely wrap your mind around it to put it down in words! Glad to hear things are going so well!

(And my condolences to your friend's family.)
