Hi ladies I have been here before looking for some idea's but this time I am looking to start watching a child or 2 in my home during the week. I was wondering if you ladies woud know how I could find families. I moved here about a year ago and dont know many people so I cant just call up a friend. I put an add on craigslist but nothing yet, I was curious to know if there is any other web sites out there to find families or have them find me. TIA

You can start here: http://nrckids.org/STATES/states.htm And then check your local yellow pages under child care for local agencies that do referrals. Call them and find out how to get on their referral list. It will take time to build up a client base and get your name out there. Once that happens, you will get new kids by word of mouth. My sister is now getting 2nd generation children of children she had watched 26 years ago.

You can also try advertising at churches . The newspaper and penny papers are a great place to start though.
