New and want a WAH job

My name is Melissa and I have a 14 month old DD and a 7 year old DS. I would love to work at home, but have yet to find anything that is not a scam. I got offered a job recently, and the contract was emailed to me, but the phone number and address on the contract were not valid and the guy offering would only speak to me on Yahoo. He told me limited details and I got nervous whenhe typed ALL CAPS basically yelling at me for not understanding and asking too many questions. SO I told him off and said when he could cool down, I'd tell him my decision. I have yet to log on again.

I know we are not allowed to promote home businesses here, but are there some plain at home jobs I can do? I have been there, done that with home businesses. I know no one here, I'm totally alone and my husband is married to his job, so I have no friends and no social outlets to get support to sell products. Did the Mary Kay thing...didn't go well. So a regular job at home is my prime target. Any suggestions based on what you're doing?

I'd appreciate it. I just want to earn some extra cash to catch up on some old debts and I cannot afford much of an investment and I am hoping not to have to pay to get a job.

Hi Melissa. I couldn't help noticing your post. Yes, this is not supposed to advertise businesses, but what a great way for you to find opportunities. I do work from home, and did look a long time to find an opp, doing the Mary Kay thing myself! I am very proud of what I do now and would absolutely love to share it with you! I guess if I could say one thing about what I do, is help people every day. (If I'm aloud to say that here...lol). If you are stil looking please reply, and we will chat about it.

Can you email me...I would like to know more about Mary Kay.
Do you make $$$ or products?
Do they teach you how to do makeovers. I love makeup.
Thanks!

Hi!. I did MK for a while. Yes, they do teach you how to do makeovers and how to determine the best fit for you and your customers based on answers to very good questions so you can give them the right products.

I love their products and I quit only because I had an unfortunate run-in with a director who hurt my feelings so badly, I had no choice but to vacate my position. I still am a very big supporter of the business, but no longer sell. I think if you can find someone who is within the organization, you should definitely talk to them if you like doing makeovers and spending time with other women who like it too. I cannot give you anyone's name but I suggest going o their website and searching for opportunities that might fit you.

Oh and I do apologize for wearing my CL hat in here. I forgot to remove it!

OOPS!

I can relate to your situation.I am a stay at home mommy with a 2 and 3 year old and a husband married to his job.I craved adult coversation, earning my own fun money and general independance..I found it and am very happy now.You too can be just as happy!I learned that life is truly what we make of it and we have to get out and grab it by the reins..so to speak.Just making the effort is enough to inspire!

I have to say, my husband works retail hours. They are horrible! But, on his off time, he's off doing something. It could be fishing, mowing the grass, hanging out with his friends, etc. It irritates me to no end, but I have found that's what most men do! I can only imagine having the weight of our entire family's well being on his plate though.

I did start a home based business and I love it. I sell children's books. I had never heard of the company before until a friend invited me to a party. I encourage you to look at the many opportunities out there. You will find the one for you, just keep looking!

Good Luck!
