Hello All,

I am a WAHM of 2 beautiful daughters (Chloe, 4 yrs and Kendall 8 months). For the past 3 yrs I've worked for a company as a remote employee and recently began a new job with a different employee in the same capacity. Working at home has its MANY benefits, but can sometimes be lonely (i.e. no water cooler chat ;-)...hope everyone is well and I'm looking forward to talking!

I'm in Houston. Do you keep your daughter with you during the day, or do you have help?

Because I do speak to clients often as well as I attend client meetings out of the office, so they are currently in day care. I'm looking into having a nanny come to the house so I can spend more time with them.

Thank you!

Your daughter is a doll!

Yes...you can get so much more done...and the flexibility, I wouldn't change it, the baby was running a fever this morning from flu shot yesterday, and I'm able to be here to take care of her.

Poor baby...better to be safe and have the flu shot, though!

DD is at daycare. I want to have a nanny here at the house. My goal is to have that in place by the time we have another child.

Shannon welcome to the board - hopefully things will pick up around here when my busy time settles down and I have more time to take care of the board.

Please let us know more about yourself and jump in any thread (or start your own) that you like.

Aloha again

Hi,
I'm also a WAHM and live in Houston, TX (Humble). I have a 2 year old DD and expecting another on in June 07. My DD is in daycare fulltime, company-policy and I can never get work done with her around. I agree with you that it can be lonely. I work for a technology company (software development). The good thing about WAH is that I get more work done than my co-workers who work in the office. Where about in Houston do you live?

Maybe we could chat sometime.

-Sola

Hi!

I live in Cypress. Both DD are in daycare full-time, however, sometimes (due to late night work), I'm able to pick up early, drop off late, etc., which is very nice.

I also work for a software company! My work does require me to be out of office pretty regularly, therefore the need for full-time care. Not to mention, and I agree, I would not get anything complete if I did try to work with them home.

I have been thinking about the nanny/in-home care situation. Any thoughts?

Take care and Happy holidays,

Shannon
